For me, the two work off one another. I have a home network so the laptop is my PC away from my PC. I go to school for extended periods of time and write all my reviews\\previews when I have free time and get them submitted and up on the net with the home PC. It sure as hell beats writing them free hand and retyping them. Lets just say that if you have a lot of free time away from home, but can\'t go home, or if you like to get away from all distractions and go some place else, having a laptop is a good idea.
If you drive yourself, are always at home and never have free time away from home, then it\'s pointless to have a laptop if you have a desktop.
