hey wtf!!, where are all the great jokes, well if by joke you mean "a perfect circle" then, HAHAHAHA good one. j/k ;)

A friend of mine has got their cd. They seem to be a nice band but their not really my type, the only song of theirs that i remotely liked was "judith".

Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Yah you will.  One day.  :)  You\'re just not ready for them yet.

I have come curiously close to the end, down
Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole,
Defeated, I concede and
Move closer
I may find comfort here
I may find peace within the emptiness
How pitiful

It\'s calling me...

I appreciate their boring songs\' lyrics, but not them. Lyrics are only one half of a song. Music is the other. Bass, drums, guitar, and vocals. That little "side two of Abbey Road" wannabee is sub-par in the music department IMO. Tool\'s lyrics are not on trial here. You may be big for lyrics and deep meanings and all, but without the music for me, they are nothing.

My point still stands.  I wasn\'t intended to single out the lyrics, Tool\'s main focus has always been about getting emotions across through the sound of the music.  And this is where the Disposition/Reflection/Triad trilogy works best.  Particularly because the part#1 has only 2 sentences (repeated) and the third has no words at all.

The bass, drums, guitars and singing all come together to form a perfect alalgam of aural sensations in the aforementioned song (trilogy) which is what makes is truely beautiful.  The song really does reach me, making me feel pity and optimism for the narator, all at once.

And you do seem to have a penchant for other Progressive Rock stylings (such as Pink Floyd) which is why I find it odd that you dislike this song.  It\'s also why I think that given time, you\'ll mature and learn the patience that is necessary to truely appreciate, not only the \'boring\' songs, but all of the songs.  Enjoyment from music is not only attained through catchy hooks and heavy guitars, but the incitment of emotion within the user.  Which can take time to properly instill in someone.  And it\'s what I feel their songs achieve above that of any other band.

And I\'ve rambled on for far too long on the matter.  :)  Take all that as you will, but please don\'t interpret it as criticisms of yourself in any way.  :)

I know Tool focuses on getting emotions out of the listener and etc. I\'ve put that much together by myself. :p It\'s why I like them so much, or have I not mentioned I absolutely loved them yet?

We have extremely different standards of perfection then. Aural sensations...sounds like a lot of noise to me. Btw, I have listened to Reflection recently(since I downloaded the wrong version apparently...), and think its a great song. One of their best? I wouldn\'t be surprise if someone thought this was the case, as most of Tool\'s fans have different fav songs from them.

I prefer PF over Tool because while they can\'t match the emotional roller coaster in some Tool songs(think H, "lalala... I DON\'T MIND...I DON\'T MIND...I DON\'T MIIIIIIIIIND), but they more than make up for it in other ways. Legendary guitarist, some of the great lyrics ever thanks to Waters, and innovative use of a number of instruments. Tool delivers an emotional experience while Pink Floyd delivers a magical one IMO. Wish You Were Here and Time=good.

No, I won\'t. Not everyone shares the same taste in music as you nor the ****ing obsession of Maynard James Keenan.

I was taking your interests into account.  They\'re similar to mine anyway.  Well.. except for A Perfect Circle ;)
