Brand new pictures of Castlevania in PS2!

When DMC was created, even Capcom acknowledged that it was "CastleVania in 3D" for the most part. Konami now faces the fact, that it has been done. It was done by Capcom. Konami missed their golden chance to take CastleVania 3D  , when they put the craptacular ones out on the N64.

And come on. Konami knows people want Castlevania 2D. The three GBA games have been top sellers , game of the months for magazines, game of the year for the GBA and have been praised by the gamers. They also know that Castlevania: SOTN is thought to be one of the all time best games ever and was the pinnacle of 32-Bit gaming and the PSone games. There is no reason for them to ignore the fact the gamers and critics want a 2D Castlevania installment on their home systems.

Could you imagine a 128 bit 2D Castlevania game like SOTN!  The backgrounds, the lighting effects, etc.  I\'ll still check this game out though.  I wonder if this game is work in progress from the Dreamcast version which was cancelled along time ago.

I rather not imagine it , as it would just depress me. I\'m currently playing Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and every once in awhile I think of how this could be on a home system. The sound, the graphic and everything ... It could easily be game of the year all around. Instead, Konami ignores the plea\'s of gamers for a direct sequel to CastleVania: Sotn on the home consoles. They rather make us go blind playing the three excellent portable games - which by the way are 2D ..

*ahem*

My friend said that there\'ll be a new Castelvania that\'s 2-D. He said it looked "tight as hell". I don\'t know if I believe him, but I\'ll just take his word since he\'s the biggest fan of Castlevania I know. The 3-D versions just sucked soooo much. They must stop making those...

Your friend is on crack, sadly.

There was *suppose* to have been a Castlevania in development for the PS2 and it was suppose to have been 2D. Turns out all those great 2D games have been on the game GBA. ..All hopes for a 2d Castlevania on the home systems are gone at this point.

I agree a hundred and ten percent, yet Konami has not grasped this. They are still under the opinion that if it is on a home console it needs to be 3D . Tho\', I\'ll never understand this logic when you consider that CastleVania: SoTN is one of the greatest PSX games and before the "greatest hits" version would fetch up to $100 dollars on Ebay... Then take the port of it for the Saturn - it fetches well over 100 dollars often..... Then, take in account how well the three 2D games for the GBA have sold in the past two years. The demand is there and Konami ignores us.
