Every place I go to the icons are too colorful to match my desktop, which is a silver/grey/dark grey.

I did find these at Deviantart.com, but when I actually went to put them on my desktop they were really low resolution looking.

I\'m using Windows 2000 BTW.

Windows 2000 won\'t display the icons correctly IIRC, it lacks the 8bit alpha blending to make the icons smooth and nice, also the default icons size in windows is 32x32 px while I have mine set at 64x64 to for it\'s high res glory.

But if you want a nice grey set to go with your color prefences I\'d try Tritanium for example, a nice simple grey colored set.

you can download various programs to make your windows 98 look like this

I want to do this- but being lazy about it. :D

Guy\'s running windowblinds, bottom is Samurize, the short cut thing is one of many progs. Rainlendar for the calendar thingy and CursorXP for that big ass cursor. The icons are just cleverly possisioned on the desktop. And the icons are mostly glass bubble icons.

it\'s OK, nothing special really, feels like a little too much. The theme is fugly, and the guy shouldn\'t skin the explorer buttons because they always end up ugly when the skinners make them too bevelled.

I prefer more minimalistic themes, Windowblinds just doesn\'t seem to have enough quality themes most of them are too much and feel just bloated. Msstyles skinners usally end up making more quality themes IMO, that\'s not to say there aren\'t any good themes available for the WB format, Honz\'s Krystal for example is excellent.

Do you believe in a god that tells you lies?
Or do you believe in me??

Try Windowblinds, should be suffice although it might cause stability problems on 9x boxes.

He mean\'s windows 95/98 systems

Anyway, here\'s my desktop.  Just changed the icons and wallpaper yesterday.

The only thing I don\'t like is the light on the desktop doesn\'t exactly fade out all that smooth.  I\'m not really sure of a way to fix it other than lowering the brightness... I\'m not a huge photoshop guru.
