Help me understand something.

Havent read any other posts but know one thing;

It is similar to the Taoist thoughts. If you know little about this I suggest reading a booked called "The Tao of Pooh", yes Winnie the Pooh. I am reading it now for a class and it is a bit of a stretch but it is insightful.

Basically Taoists believe that life should be lived simple. We shouldnt try to ask why? who? what? where? etc. we should just see that it is their and believe that it is, and all things are important.

Think of a fish in a pond. That fish knows nothing more than the pond. It can swim up and down within the parameters of that pond without any knowledge of what lies beyond it...it can\'t see beyond the pond nor does it need to(purpose) so it is limited by it\'s own perception needed to exists?

I shall quote from the Tao of Pooh here;
"A well-frog cannot imagine the ocean, nor can a summer insect conceive of ice. How then can a scholar understand the Tao? He is restricted by his own learning."

I really do suggest if you are interested in Taoism, you should check this book out- Its by Benjamin Hoff, and is published by Penguin. Its one of my favorite readings.

Or ever can understand.

We are limited to our purpose and we\'ll never be able to see beyond it.

Holy crap.:O

Thanx, Spudz.  I will go to the book store tomorrow or just order it off b&n tonight.  It certainly has my interest...

Yeah, its really deep stuff. Everyone in the class complains about it- but honestly philosophy is amazing, even if futile.

Simple terms: One defines the other.

Something defines that there is nothing. Nothing, defines that there could be something.

Great, hopefully we can discuss it over some form of communication.

I have read it through about 10 times, and still grasps me. Its a bit of a stretch at first, and sometimes you think the guy is rambling- but in reality it is a very similiar comparision.

It\'s like if there were no girls. Then we wouln\'t be any different from each other..at least physically, so then what would we call ourselves?
Don\'t try to confuse me with what you call  facts, my mind is already made up.
