Movie mode on the GL2 = 30fps progressive

The Panasonic models have true 24 frame capturing.

Screw 24, more = better :p

That doesn\'t seem right since the regular mode is at 29.97 frames per second. Movie frame you can almost detect the frame by frame sequence. I\'ll have to check....

Ah! Yer right! Although regular or normal mode is at around 60 FPS, when you edit, it\'s 29 fps....same as the movie mode. :)

Excellent purchase! but a warning....the newer GL2 has a better low light ability than the XL1. That\'s about the only advantage (other than price) the GL2 has over its big brother.

EDIT - these Jerry Seinfeld/American Express commercials were shot in XL1.

Adan, to answer your question, each chip is at 410,000 gross pixels.

3 x 410,000 = a lot. ;)

so,

this camcorder uses 3 1/4" CCDs with 410,000 pixels each.  If i am not mistaken, another different between GL2 and XL1 is XL1 uses 3 1/3" CCDs which, bigger CCDs means better lowlight and color rendition....:D

that website is wrong.

Go to canon own website and its say

3 1/3" CCD.  I believe it uses 270,000 pixels like you say but its 1/3", not 1/4".
