I know brand recognition is important, that\'s of course why they want to keep the logo for the PS3 in line with their previous console. Now people, stop whining.

I think that would pretty much be extremely irritating if it was called PS4. I think PS3 is fine, cuz it\'s still cool, but this really must end now. I\'m still VERY disappointed with Sony\'s lack of creativity. I hope they put more effort into making something for the design of the console that looks futuristic and is very small...not like the Xbox type bread truck crappola.

That\'d be awesome if they had some kind of neon blue lights on the console, like tube lining or something. And maybe like um...something NOT dumb like more than 2 controller ports :rolleyes: Hell, maybe even 8!! I hate multitaps, really. But anyway, yeah (yes I\'m a hardcore Sony/gaming fan...get over it you angry people).

I\'m just excited about this new generation. Makes me feel like a little kid at Christmas time again :D *taking a breath* I\'m done...bye

Yeah. Personally i loved the design of the ps2 when i saw it. Especially with the vertical stand and all. It looked crude in a way but ...sexy. I dont know. Hard to explain. Especially with the HDD on the side of it. It looked menacing and i liked that look. The xbox is just butt fugly, or as the xbox lovers say "its practical."

Im not trying to diss on the xbox. Really im just excited to see some concept designs from sony as well as some REAL screens. Its always refreshing. I cant wait to see whats going to happen in this next gen.

to all the fools complaining about the system\'s name, i guess you weren\'t around when sony announced the first playstation. they went over its plans and successors. the systems would be named playstation, playstation 2, 3, etc.
to complain now is just dumb.

They can still call it PS3 and then add some little name to it like they do with games, like the Mortal Kombat series. Just an idea.

I like the new logo....on the PS2. The font was cool when it was on the PS2. I just wished they put a little more effort into it. Eh, I\'m still gonna buy the console. I just hope they come up with a) an original logo and b) an original name for their next console.

The playstation logo is never going to change. At least not soon. And if what we are hearing is true, then the ps3 name and logo will hold for this gen.

Oh well. Maybe something new for the next gen

They are going to keep it the same for obvious reasons.They want to market the PS3 as a continuatioun of the Playstation series.Not as a different product.Keeping the same logo and characteristics show just that.Also keeps the value of the previous product.
