Kameo: Gameplay Impressions
« Reply #30 on: November 15, 2005, 01:30:56 PM »
Missed out? Just like I "missed" out on Ico? I remember all the ravin\' about ICO, I gave it a chance and thought it was borin\' crap. I feel that SOTC will be the same, but then again, I gave my PS2 away and really have no interest in gettin\' it back, other than the fact I wouldn\'t mind playin\' Soul Calibur III and Devil may Cry 3.

And I only called it a pesudo sequel, because all the fanboys have always said that it would be the sequel to ICO.

As for the last Kameo comment - so what? If someone enjoys platform games, what is the problem? Why not go ahead and enjoy it with new graphics? It\'s just like I love the Castlevania (2D) series and I always buy the new additions to the series. The game fundmentals rarely change, but I still love the game. The same applies to someone who may buy Kameo because it is a Rare platform title.

i guess being that they are both in the "adventure" game genre, that makes them similar.

as a gamer, you are heavily missing out by not playing SOTC.

kameo?  you\'ve played it before on several systems just with lesser graphics.

What plays like Kameo?  Are you simply saying that, in a general sense, it\'s just like every other adventure game since it falls into that genre?

mm, you\'re as bad as ever at debating.  Do you even know where you\'re going with this?

ginko, please go back into the closet.
you really had this going well, but then just flopped over.  you\'re excused.

aren\'t you tired of Rare platform games yet, LIC?  how many mediocre titles do they have to pump out with 15% better graphics before enough is enough?

and cartlevania = zzzzzzzzz
i haven\'t been suckered by konami since castlevania 64 and for good reasons.

where am i going with this?

If you would learn to read, you would note I said I had no interest in Kameo, but I won\'t say it is a bad game or shouldn\'t be picked up. It just doesn\'t appeal to me, much like Rare games never have (\'cept for Blast Corps!).

As for Castlevania...Your loss. The 2D installments have been some of the best games in recent time. The 3D installments are a disgrace tho\'.

Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

And porn sells better than written masterpieces.I am glad I dont see porn mags replacing masterpieces in bookstores.

And I am glad games like ICO and SOTC exist giving new hope and meaning to gaming rather than the "business easy profitable" games

I am also sad the DC failed despite that it had masterpieces on it.

I hope developers will offer something different than just prettier graphics the next gen because I am bored of playing the same games over and over again even if I am enjoying some improved sequels.

While we wait for Socom 4, Ratchet & Clank 5, Jak 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4, Burnout 5, Twisted Metal 6, Prince of Persia 4, Splinter Cell 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Gran Turismo 5...

What is your point, mm?  Good games deserve sequels.  From the reviews thus far it seems Kameo is better than average.  In fact, it scored the exact same as SoTC from the same site.

You are so bad at this...

I knew Kameo would be good back when it was planned for GCN. It just looked solid.
