I loved Pan\'s Labyrinth, was glad I caught it in the theater. I don\'t get why people hate subtitles so much. Its not that bad.

- Because you can\'t eat popcorn and read subtitles at the same time
- Because I DONT LIEK TO READ, IT\'S NOT A BOOK IT\'S LIEK A MOVIE OR SUMTHING
- Because it\'s just pain un-American

...No I don\'t get the hate either. It\'s not the end of the world. And, gasp, many foreign people are used to it.

If you didn\'t like The Fountain I doubt you\'ll like Pan\'s Labyrinth.

I hear Shrek III just opened though...

Donkey > a bald Hugh Jackman doing yoga in outer space. :)

If Pans has an actual storyline and an ending - yeah I will like it.

I thought "The Fountain" tried too hard to be high-minded intellectual art, and ended up being way too diffuse and unfocused.  Yes, the story is open to interpretation, but the whole thing felt false to me.  I had little emotional investment in the characters, and didn\'t much sympathize with them.

The biggest redeeming feature of the film is Rachel Weisz.  I could watch her reading the Internal Revenue Code, and I would be content.  Hugh Jackman should go back to "The X Men" and "Van Helsing."  He doesn\'t deserve any roles that require acting.

If you want to see a better film, seek out "The Constant Gardener."

Blood Diamond is an excellent film, though it will tie your stomach into knots. Child soldiers are...well...it\'s just sad.

Might as well check out "Hotel Rwanda" while you\'re at it.  But for a frightening story about child soldiers, (in this case child criminals) nothing beats "City of God."
