PS2 HDD/ethernet bundle in japan very soon

Please read my rant

I don\'t think it will cost more than $50 for reasons I stated above.

Sony wants to provide lots of online content to PS2 owners. Not only games !!!!!!. Sony plans on making its money in other places and will sell the HD/Ethernet bundle at a loss just like the PS2 and make it back from online content. Sony has to know the add on will fail to reach casual consumers if it costs more than a game.

How many people here would pay for a BB  ISP for there PC and another through SOny for there PS2. I won\'t, and I\'m sure most family households will have to say no to this extra expense as well. And since SOny wants to porvide lots and lots of online content beyond just games to PS2 owners it will have to caefully think about this strategy as well.

If SOny can provide BB Internet service to my PC as well as my PS2 then and only then will I purchase the Sony\'s BB service, unless its dirt cheap

no pne knows all speculation

Ther is so much to consider

a.) Most casual gamers have and ISP for there PC and don\'t want another ISP bill to add to there monthly budget

b.) SOny has huge plans for online gaming and so much other broadband content. Its part of Sony\'s future and they are investing HEAVILY INTO IT. This is why we have read about 10 - 20 different partnerships by SOny and other online/imnterent companies etc...

c.) Since SOny sees a big future in online content it has to find away to make it very attractive to casual gamers and PS2 owners in general. If we\'re paying $100+ for the HD/Ethernet card, $35+ a months for Sony BB ISP, and then paying to download movies and music and all the other stuff. You know its going to fail.

So how SOny get the HD/Ethernet card into the majority of PS2 owners expansion bays, Gets them hooked up conveniently and affordably is still a mystery, but SOny has to have a big plan, one that makes the whole package conveinent and very affordable or else forget about it

Does anyone remember when that guy a little while ago made a post saying the the HDD would be 300 MB?
I guess he was way off.
Oh yeah, I agree with Ddaryl.
