jeepnrocks, the fact is not really debatable, VF was the first true 3D fighter, like it or not :)

Niether VF nor BAT were true 3D fighters.

Toshinden had the ability to roll to the side and attack its opponent from a different angle but once executed, the game was back to 2D with the camera switching to the over the shoulder view once in a while. Yep. Check it out. 2D fighting, roll, back to 2D.

VF wasn\'t as free rolling as BAT, but it had "some" 3D elements to it but it was 90% 2D.

BAT was more like....2.5 Dimensional.

Tobal No2 was the first true 3D fighting game.

Speaking of PSX classics, anyone hear anything on a new Jumping Flash?

Well said.Toshinden was as revolutionary if not more than VF IMO in its time.It was the first to introduce 3D moving. The stages were very inspiring too.

eh, maybe youre right.

A new jumping Flash would kick ash!! That game rocked!! I never even owned the real game (just the demo that was included with first PSx\'s, and I loved it!!

Also, Tecmo has expressed interest in the Naomi2 for it\'s next DOA, since both the last games were developed on Sega boards, I think this would be wise,a s they would already know the board, just a far more superior version of it.

There was a Toshinden sequel. It was called Toshinden: Subaru (???). I think it was Japan only.

Toshinden was a good-looking game but was boring and dull. At least it didn\'t pull a Namco with Toshinden 3 and actually thought of a different sub-boss for each character. Gotta give it to Takara for great character designs.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Werd.  Wasn\'t it already confirmed last month?  I could have swore it was.  What I would give for a full game release list (Japan/US) only naming the games that are coming out and their dev\\publishers.

Actually, the PS had 5 Toshindens.

The fifth is the ever-lame-desperate-tactic-to-keep-gamers-interested-in-our-game SD Toshinden. It was a Super Deformed Toshinden, big heads, out-of-proportion characters, etc.
