I don\'t know... I\'ve been on a lot of \'H/C\' forums and sites... they don\'t seem too happy with much on PS2, many proclaiming they dont want, or need one, because there\'s only \'mainstream\' fluff games. That being said, many H/C do have PS2\'s, and seem to be looking foward to games like Strech Panic, and other quirky games. Trust me, I don\'t think I\'m h/c, I feel I\'m somewhere in the middle. I get every system, have hundreds of games, and games are one of the most important hobbies I have IMO. On the other hand, I hate \'Shmups\', never cared for Neo Geo, and know next to nothing about a lot of older/import system.

I don\'t really understand your analogy, but it made me think of another word, minority, and underdog. The smaller group, less popular group. I have a tendency to side with the underdog in most situations, and in a way, the h/c, DC, XB and other things are kind of underdogs. That\'s why I stick up for them.

Errr... I think I went off on something totally unreleated though... I\'m rambling.... so i\'ll wrap it up with this, my generalizations werent meant to offend, or represent every single gamer. And I know lots of people not listed will buy a system. But the ones I listed are the ones who will be \'behind\' each platform. They will buy more stuff for \'their\' platform. There will be lots of crossover, but I think in the majority of cases (51%+) these stereotypes will hold true. That said, it does leave 49% that could be doing somthing I can predict. And like I said, these figures were my opinions to begin with.

Mind... rambling... incoherantly.... must killlllll  itttt........ ;)

Well, That sounds about right. I too think of the underdog type analogy.

Personally, after supporting several underdog systems (Sinclair, Odyssey, Turbografix, Lynx) I have been beaten down by the failures. Yes, the underdogs have good games and the like, but to see support fall off over and over is depressing.

I took a few years off of consoles while I was in the Force(86-91) and stuck with playing old C64 games, so I came back into consoles on the tail end of the 16bit era. I got a SNES and soon after got the PSX. I never had the pleasure of a Sega machine, but have played their games.

Admittedly I am happy to have a PS2. Rpg\'s are my choice and I believe that the PSX picked up on this genre where the N64 dropped the ball, while the Sega machines strong suit is in quirky and/or arcade types. That\'s not to say that those other consoles don\'t have Rpg\'s, it\'s just that the PSX (and hopefully the PS2) seemed to have more to offer in that genre\'.

Anywho, I went a bit OT....

We both went off topic... :)

Quite frankly, I love my PS2, and as I said before, don\'t really fall into either PS2 catagory I mentioned. I was really just doing the bulk of what I see each market doing.  There will be lots of cross over, I\'m sure.

I know about failures, I have a 3DO, 32X and Virtual Boy ;)

Haha VB!!

I would have gotten one of those, but I have "lazy eye" and it would not have worked too well for me.

I really like VB. If only the headset was actually a headset and it used less batteries, it might\'ve worked.  Maybe add color too...
