Well there\'s a difference between Looking Cartoonish, and looking kiddie IMO
Zelda on the GC looks like a Cartoon same with Jak and Daxter and other games
on the other hand I thought things in Zelda OoT were very kiddie.
Brief example was those rock creatures where you had to play the Ocarania(sp?) and get the big rock guy to do a dance. I literally almost threw up at this point. Other parts of being a child elf also made me feel I was playing a game designed to make kids happy.
I honestly lost the desire nor did I get absorbed into Zelda and have since not been a Nintendo fan
Now please don\'t attack me and tell how wrong I am, I know what I experienced and regardless of the direction the game might have taken towards the end the fact remains Nintendo failed to grab my personal taste interests.
I liked games like Crash Bandicoot, mostly because the dialog and storyline were basic and the gameplay was the focus. On top of this I could identify with a cool looking character like Crash as well as the Crash world. Yet Crash had a dialog and storyline to appeal to a younger crowd. Simply because the storyline was brief I didn\'t have to stomach through lots of kiddie dialog which allowed me to enjoy the games experience better
So in a nut shell I don\'t think the new Zelda is "Kiddie Looking" just cartoony. What they do with the storyline will make or break that image. The animation and presentation I saw from Spaceworld movies seemed very impressive, even the graphics look pretty sweet. It just boils down to the Bait and Switch routine Nintendo played on everyone that has this issue all stirred up
