And it doesn\'t matter if battles are real-time or not.. that\'s not what makes a MMORPG. What makes a MMORPG is what I said above.. several partys playing the same game in the same persistant world as the others. That\'s what makes it Massively Multiplayer anyhow.. figuring out exactly what consitutes an RPG is a whole different debate.

FFXI isn\'t realtime, but not quite turn based either. As soon as you target a enemy, you enter combat and your char goes into "Autopilot".. attacking automatically. You could sit the controller down and go take a piss.. come back.. and have won the battle. That\'s not real-time to me.. but it does have real-time elements via a menu where you can trade off a rounds attack for say, magic, item use, special attack.. ect.

Ok ok, I thought it was 8players total in the game... sorry for mistake , but it was text based mmorpg then right ?

Yup, and it is the hardest epic quest of em all :/ But it was damn fun to do it, since there was a story actually Even though sitting in Burning Woods for 60 hours and doing Hate about 7 times and kill Phingiel Autropos 19 times wasnt the most fun part of the quest hehe :/

Nope, it was a dungeon hack similar to, well, AD&D Dungeon Hack by Interplay. Actually, I have the game if you wanna give it a quick spin and check it out. Most of the feautres are disabled since you can\'t go online with it anymore.. but it\'s a nice piece of gaming history.
