Psx sold all those consoles at 99.99 and 59.99. And the competition was not as tough as it is now. I don\'t see the ps2 doing anywhere close to those numbers this generation.

its hard to say whether companies will be making more money or not....the more powerful a machine the more expensive its going to be to make games... Developers are complaining about the PS2 being so hard to develope for, when really they have to make the leap up (as well as the difficult architecture)...wonder why GT3 had so many less cars?  because it takes so much longer to model the realistic looking cars...these problems will be inherant in all consoles, not just PS2, plus more competition means unless they go multiconsole (which increases devlopement costs again) they arent going to be makinmg as much money, unless consumers start buying more games

They are the mouse, keyboard, modem, hard drive, and LCd screen.

Actually Gamepro said soemthing like, "to get the full potential of PS2, you\'ll need to spend about an extra $200 in accessories, with a total of 500 put into your PS2."

But Gamepro is gay.

Anyway with Xbox, you\'ll be paying only 300 with the built in HardDrive and broadband modem. To get those 2 for your PS2 you\'d be paying:

300 (PS2)
40 (HD)
60 (estimated) +
---------------------
$400

...just saying...

And Gamepro is still gay.

well ok ill give you the hdd - which will most likely cost more then 60 bucks - probaly more around 75-100 at least

but the modem that comes with xbox is only Broadband which leaves most of the people that want to play xbox online - the 40 you spend on the modem for ps2 is what someone will end up paying for a third party modem for the xbox if thats even possible

so really the only thing is the HDD - but if you look at size - which i have no idea why sony is making it so big - well anyway - thats my piece - its all about how you think about it

Really though, it isn\'t about features, graphics, specs, how good the DVD movie plays, etc.

it is all about the GAMES baby!

IMO, GC just ain\'t doing it for me. X-Box and PS2 are more than pulling their weight in terms of my invested money. GC has Sonic Team for me, and that will be good and dandy. So I will probably buy 5-10 GC games over the next 4 years. 35-40 X-Box games, and 20-30 PS2 games.

thats 65 - 80 games in 4 years - thats a lot for most people - i mean thats 3250 - 4000 bucks in games alone
