Official review of EA\'s new game.... work work work. You are going to have to work to get use to the new system. I mean some things are the same, the offensive and defensive play calling is so much better, the play is faster and more hard core, but whew!!!!.
The online play (from a broadband connection standpoint) is very easy going no lag whatsoever, until you are trying to hit a free throw... I have made one online. Others are making them, so I guess you have to get the timing down.
There were problems that EA should\'ve done as far as connecting to players online (I wish, in a perfect world, that EA and all gaming companies would create a user interface that is the exact same down all product lines... Madden\'s is superior online and far simpler in design). Trying to connect to certain players if you are using a router isn\'t working sometimes, I had to unplug my router and had to go in a directly connect to the PS2 in order to play it online.
The new freestyle moves are great, once you get use to them. I still have a long way to go, but I\'m also 2-0 on online play. People try to hard to throw up bad shots, I am just more patient and use the clock more to find a shot that works. Steals are easier, but still something that needs to be worked on with freestyle. Blocks same way.
Overall out of 10 I would give them a 7. There are still things that need to be worked out, and if I were counting just the online play, it would be a 4.5. There are issues to connecting, they should\'ve used whatever they used with Madden, it works fine.
I hope this is helpfull, I still have yet to play any other basketball game, but EA is usually my choice anyway. Remember it takes time to get the freestyle and new button control down.
