Yeah, peace and love and harmony....

Great!

While we are playing videogames, our enemies can keep flying planes into our skyscrapers.

Sony, stick to making games and TVs.

The point is, you specifically mentioned video games

stop releasing violent videogames

You are beginning to sound like that Lieberman guy...

The FACT is most, if not all, videogames potray some sort of violence, but that doesn\'t turns the majority of videogamers into gun shooting freaks and katana wielding samurais.

MM.
If and when we get into this war, will it be the first?

Are video games any worse than the fairs they use to have for hangings?

If by some chance it does desensitize the youth. Is that a bad thing? Someone has to fight the wars created by all these people that have never played a video game.

It\'s ludicrous. I am a firm believer that humans have an urge to see death. If we were not hunters by nature then we would most likely be extinct. I would much rather have some kid get his aggression out on a video game, than my head in a dark alley.

Yeah, today while I was playing Vice City. I got this urge to steal a car, and go out and kill people<
So I did, then the cops were after me, and I used the violence that I learned from Tekken 4 and kicked all the cops ass<
Then I jacked this clown for his car, you know b/c all clown cars have missiles and stuff <
Violence in the media doesn\'t make NORMAL people go stupid. If you people do go stupid from v-games, there was something wrong with them in the first place. Most video game violence is unreal. I mean there is no way you can blame stealing a car and killing the owner on VC, b/c if you\'re stupid enough to think that the cops will behave like they did on the game, then your don\'t brainwashed by video games, you\'re just retarded.
You can\'t blame the media for giving us what we want, that\'s their job. We can\'t blame them for everysingle violent act, or blame them for the violence.
Don\'t try to confuse me with what you call  facts, my mind is already made up.

I havent seen this commercial, but I think SONY is just trying to help, but I am not impressed, they are selling VIOLENCE. Sure I love all those violent, bloody, mindless games. But they are helping, hopefully their mean it.

I\'m not trying to argue, but lets hope they mean it. And not just advertising their games.

I\'ll look out for this commercial, looks like i\'ll have to suffer through an hour or two of MTV.

mm, I \'m sure that media does desensitize us, though probably videogames to a lesser extent than say, real footage on the news of dead people or tradgedies.... but as to "where violence comes from"...

That\'s not learned, that\'s inborn.  We\'re descendant from animals, we have emotions, and instincts.  There was violence before mass media, there\'s violence in nature, and there\'ll be violence all over the earth long after we wipe ourselves off the planet.  Violence is a part of the universe, a constant from the smallest organism to the largest sytems or clockworks.  Everything wants to survive, and because of entropy everything does it at SOMETHING\'s expense.
