Bah....Burnout2 rules ALL!!

Great graphics, super fast super smooth gameplay, that lifts the andrenaline to its heights, and makes fast and the furious look like the old Amano\'s cartoon racer.

Well, I\'m with seven there ; racing games stand or fall by their
performance of framerate. We\'re talking about half the amount of visual information the brain receives to react to a high speed situation > if they finally lock it at 30 instead of 60 fps. I think I\'m
known here to h8 EA\'s F1 games for their crappy framerates , seeing PGR2 going down there has me very disappointed. Yes
I enjoyed PGR1 quite a bit. The idea of # 2 being turned into a
pretty slideshow makes me say :thumbd:

This is merely an excuse to justify the fact that they can\'t get the game to run at 60 in the quality they hyped and now have to downgrade the framerate.

If you were to run the game running at 30fps and the same running at 60fps, you would definitely notice.  But if you\'re never given the opportunity to see it running at 60fps you won\'t notice it...

Case in point is Halo.  I would not have been able to tell you if the game was running at 30 fps or 60fps. Honestly...I really didn\'t know until mm started complaining about it in every other thread.

So, to throw the ball back - why should I give a damn about a reasearch Microsoft did, if the difference is more than just obvious to me? And I bet anything, but even the average consumer will be able to perceive the difference between two games running different framerates. [/B]

Will they care?

Personally it is quite noticable. At least for me and it doesnt always really bother me, but when im playing a racing game that should be fast (as most SHOULD be) then it is a bit dissapointing. Burnout2 you can tell is 60fps and the difference is huge compared to some games.

Its not say a difference between chocolate and shit but definately a difference.

Frames per second is THE most important thing in the racing game genre imo. I have to make superfast decisions concerning
steering, breaking and accelerating based on the visual information provided ; so 30 fps instead of 60 fps will decrease the \'feel\' for the game, in short, the \'gameplay\', by half.
I don\'t care for some little aliasing, i just want a racing game which plays and feels great ; 60 fps. Of course fsaa is gonna sell
the game more on a short term basis and to stupid casual gamers who just want to show off a pretty slideshow to their silly little friends. Gee, how marketing pressure ruins all content eh :o

btw. I signed a petition over at the Bizarre creations forum to get \'em to change it to 60 fps. Hope it\'ll have some effect.
