Life in Prison for stealing a TV.

You guys forget that he beat up an old lady to get the tv.  Granted he wasn\'t charged with it, but you know what that must have been like back when he got busted?  A black guy beating up an old white lady.

He\'s certainly been in long enough, but he shouldn\'t have done it in the first place.

Thing is.....will the old man be able to get a stable home when he\'s out? That\'s the dichotomy of this whole thing : give him freedom....and he could be unhappy, miserable and end up homeless. Leave him in jail and we are violating his civil rights.

Be free and be unhappy or be in jail and be unhappy. Theres no way he can be happy in jail.

I\'d rather be free and unhappy.

Yep. Also, he was not exactly a model prisoner either. Hence the denial of parole hearings.

Then again....if a judge tells me "You get LIFE for stealing a TV!" I wouldn\'t be on my best behaviour either.
