There should be Cliff\'s notes on the Bible. Perhaps more people would read it then. ;)

I still need to read it in its entirety... I started reading it from the beginning but after 40 pages I put it down. Never got around to picking it up again (it\'s so god damn boring - no pun intended).

It\'s hard to read that way... I just jump around to different books... I like the New Testament better.

I think that we are going to end the earth. Pollution, nuclear war...something stupid.

does anyone remember when the world ended like 6 times last year?

honestly, believe what you like, but know that something or someone put the very first thing ever here (im talking on a universal scale) and i would suspect that there would be something more than life and death.

There was a man named Jesus LIC. There are written Roman records of that. Theres no refuting that, but was he the Messiah? From what I know, he never said he was King of the Jews. People said that. Remember when Pilate asked "Are you the king of the Jews?" He replied "If you think so." Also, whenever he said "I am the son of God", I think he meant it metaphorically. That we are all children of god. I am the son, you are the son/daughter, we are all children of god. I don\'t think Jesus meant it literally. And those "miracles" were just magic tricks to woo his people into his liking. Either that or the writers of the New Testament used Jesus as a character in their book to teach morals and whatnot.

Haha... "Magic tricks"... Dude, he wasn\'t pulling rabbits out of hats.

He did not mean it metaphorically. And he never blatantly said, "I AM THE SON OF GOD".

There are records that show(according to NOVA...PBS) that the name "Jesus" was pretty popular back in those days. I do believe that there was probably a guy that caused all this drama. Was he the savior...who knows. But I\'m going to have to side with the Jews on this one. The Messiah their God promised was to bring freedom and the end of oppresion. Jesus just came, astonished, and died.

David Blaine does some pretty cool magic tricks that were kind of like Jesus\'s and he\'s not pulling rabbits out of his hat. And the fact he never said "I am the son of god" shows my fact that he wasn\'t the son of god. And I too must have to side with the Jews like SirMystiq. He was not the Messiah.

How do you know that? The Jews were only discouraged because they expected their Messiah to be some sword-weilding Hercules-like figure. I don\'t understand how you can undoubtedly say, "He\'s not the son of God". You do not know that.

Oh and tell me how Jesus did that "die and come back to life" trick again, I think I saw Blaine do it, but I can\'t remember how he did it.

Maybe it was an imposter. Maybe he never did die on the cross. Maybe he really was dead and the fact he rose again was added when the new testament was written. You don\'t know for sure either. You just cling to faith and hope that he really did rise.

My faith isn\'t compromised of a false hope, but a living truth. It\'s definitely hard to explain, but it\'s an emotion that comes more from the heart then the mind.
