Teens really are bad drivers (Sorry if the truth hurts)

I\'m 18 years old and have been driving for over a year. No accidents, no tickets *knocks on wood*. Here in Jersey, they do have a pretty good plan for driving. At 16, you can get your permit. On your 17th birthday or if you got your permit late, you get it 6 months after you get your permit (you have to be 17 to get your license though). Then, you get your restricted license. I\'ve broken the law before because its kind of a pain. You can\'t drive from 12AM-4AM, which is good because if you have been drinking, you are off the road so you sober up and you can\'t do anything stupid if you are sober at night. Also, you can\'t have more than one unrelated person in yoru car. You can pack family and drive but no more than one friend. Personally, I didn\'t listen to those laws and drove past 12 and had 4 people in my back seat before and all lacrosse equipment and raced up a hill against a Camaro (I lost) but I don\'t do that stuff on the roads. I do agree with the restricted license. A pain in the ass, yes but it keeps the moron drivers off the road.

Personally, I do speed. I try not to go over 10 over the speed limit but average 40 in a 35 or 43 in a 35. I don\'t drive like an ass nor drive if I\'ve been drinking. Just on saturday, I drank 1.5 beers (it was piss beer) and I stayed the night. I\'m not taking any risks. I may have a lot of stuff planned for my car to kind of show off but I\'m not gonna act like a dick on the road and risk messing up anything I do to it. I have more respect for my car than to beat the shit out of it and crash it into a tree. Also, contrary to what many around my area don\'t do, I make sure everyone is buckled up in my car or else I won\'t move. They can either buckle up or walk, I don\'t give a shit.

BTW, I own a green 1997 Ford Thunderbird, 4.6L V8, 210 HP and rear wheel drive. Handles like crap in the snow and bad weather but its a fun car to drive. Quite powerful and fast. Plans for it are new mufflers which should up it like 20 HP, possibly a cold air intake and other cosmetic changes.

Although I agree with most of the points made here about not having your license til your 18, I\'m for one happy that I had it when I was 16, there\'s money to be made. I do have 2 accidents before I was 19, but thats exactly what they were accidents, my wheels locked up coming over a hill when it was raining, and there happened to be road work, who the hell would have guessed while it was raining right??? :-0 The other time some fucking punk pulled out onto a access road without his lights off about 100 yards down, I go to pull out theres somebody on my ass with his lights on all of a sudden, at least thats my conclusion on that accident.

It\'s amazing, most kids just have that one big mess up.  Cause I see adult moms all the time that just don\'t know how to drive at all.

Women are terrible drivers. They don\'t admit it but they suck.

Case 1:

My gf\'s best friends confuses the accelerator for the brake, and rams a parked car behind her.

Case 2:

My gf\'s friend runs into multiple mail boxes b/c appereantly she forgot to use the break after or even before she hit the first one.

Case 3:

A girl at school wrecked her car when she ran into a concret mailbox. Cause...She sprayed some car deodorant into the AC vent sending the stuff straight into her eyes, instead of stopping she thinks she can drive for a while with her eyes closed. She crashes

Case 4:

I was driving and just as a I was about to cross an intersection(I had a green light) this stupid broad, who was putting on make up, decides to go while the light is red on her side. She breaks in the middle of the road and I had to swirve and get onto the sidewalk to avoid her. She then proceeds to back into her original spot.

Case 5:

A lady hits me. How? She was looking at her self in the mirror. I remember telling my girlfriend that I bet that she was going to try to get in front of me. I slow down, and she turns on her light. She proceeds looking at the mirror for about 10 seconds, I\'m like "fuck this" so I speed up a bit b/c I thought she wasn\'t going to turn into my lane anymore. She then does it, and hits me on the side of the car.

Case 6:

Lesson learned here. Never honk, especially at woman. Everytime I\'ve honked at somebody, they stop, in the middle of the action and made the scenario worst. I was at a stop sign and I was in the middle of the lane when this chick decided to turn into the next to the one I was one, while I WAS IN FRONT OF HER. I honk, she stops in the middle of the road, she just sits there, so I HAD TO WORK MY WAY AROUND HER.





Anyways. I\'m 17, eighteen in May! I have about 2 speeding tickets. But none over, 10 MPH. I know that it\'s still speeding, but I\'m not that much of a hazard. I tend to look around constantly to check out my surroundings in case something comes up. And I usually try to be nice to other cars.

My school is chocking with kids that think they know how to drive. They drive wildly around the parking lot, making circles, appereantly to waste gas or get attention. Then they burn-out...out of their parking spots?

Teenagers suck in general. I can\'t wait for college by the way, I\'m hoping to get a new car! All I have to do is decide where to go...SMU or ND...Go Corvettes!!!

You guys are too harsh.  I find women that can drive well, and even better can drive stick, really attractive.  Silly I know but driving skills can sometimes separate the dumb, pampered ones from the independent, smart ones.

You\'re telling me. You can\'t believe how many times I was called \'heartless\' and an "asshole" for laughing when I was told that a girl I knew wrecked her car, entirely, had it in the shop for about 2 weeks. Because she sprayed car spray on her eyes. And she said that she just kept going b/c she didn\'t see anything before she was blinded that was in front of her, so she thought she had time to let her eyes "cry out" the stuff. Then came the mailbox...

That is not that big. They put 5.4L in some cars and even a 5.7 in things like Camaros. I get 16-18 miles per gallon around here.

The new Z06 is 7.0L  Should get decent gas mileage too.

Its a small block so I guess it will fit. But 500 horse power. God damn.

BTW, I\'ve been searching around and I can\'t find anything about the difference between a small block and big block. Anyone want to enlighten me?
