I will normally agree with the statement that bands should concentrate on their music instead of their image. In the case of Gwar though, the band is the image. They make the music to sell the image. To be completely honest, their music really isn\'t that good, but their shows are fucking awesome. I\'ve seen them twice.
They are unlike bands like Slipknot and Mudvayne who use their stupid fucking image to try and sell you shitty fucking music and take it all serious. Gwar knows there shit is a joke, and treats it as such on stage.

They had outfits but it changed the music itself 0

?

I know during LD50 they had outfits, they have changed their \'look\' several times.

No, I meant that maybe they get into these outfits that some people think are lame but it didn\'t affect the concert any.

they went from full-on facepaint in the first album. Then a stupid gothic look with eyeshadow, to nothing. So his clown thing was probably more of a joke than why they did on the first album.

But LD50 is easily the best one IMO. The second album had like 3 er 4 songs i liked, and same with the newest one.

I dont really look at who dresses up and whatever...i think the gimick is dumb (old mudvayne and slipknot)..but i still like both of the bands\' music.

He was in a clown outfit, the bassist was in shorts and a leather mask, and the guitarist had some other thing going on.

What happened to the chick?  The one with the hairy pits?

I saw them in concert in Philly in 1988 - that should tell you something.  The only guy I recognize (or costume anyway) is the second guy from the left.  These guys must think they are the Rolling Stones.

As far as the Dungeons and Dragons comment - I don\'t know about anyone else but that guy in the middle is definitely wearing Beaststalker shoulders from World of Warcraft.

EDIT:  I see Luke noticed it too.
