The 8800 Ultra is damn fine, no doubt about it. But damn, it\'s a lotta money!

I heard AMD is releasing a 2900 Pro now. The only difference between it and the XT is the clock speed, so you can just overclock it a bit and viola! Instant 2900 XT. And it\'s like $270 I think. :)

Then again, the 2950 is just round the corner and should be even faster... Decisions, decisions.

NewEgg has the 2900Pro in stock as of now.

And yeah, it\'s a lot of money, it\'ll put my current setup around the $2500 mark and I\'m still adding to it. Need to hurry up and finish it , so I can put more money towards my media server and then another rig after that.
My Hi-Def movie collection (much smaller than the SD one).

I got it up and running yesterday. No problems whatsoever (always nice!). I\'m running at 3.1 GHz right now and will probably keep it here because I\'m still on the stock heatsink/fan, so I don\'t want to increase vcore voltage.

Anyway, it\'s great. I was surprised how silent it is, running with stock HSF and all. [Borat] Very nice! [/Borat]

Now I just need some HD2950/8800GT reviews!
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!
(thanks Chizzy!)

Haven\'t even bothered to overclock this CPU (X2 6000).  Still running stock on everything also, may pick up an aftermarket cooler and some start my overclocking, after I am done buying everything else (getting my Ultra, Logitech G15 and G5 gaming mouse Friday).

As for videocard reviews, if you want a budget card, I don\'t think you can beat the 2900Pro. The current reviews if it against the GTS favors the Pro. Not to mention you can flash it for XT speeds.

Yeah, it looks very nice indeed. But I think I\'ll wait and see, because it\'s:

a) louder than a GTS
b) uses more power
c) the AA performance is worse than a GTS
d) available in limited quantities only and about to be replaced by the 2950Pro/XT (55nm, DX10.1 etc.)
