M$ gives money too NYC too help victims..

Microsoft Corp. is donating $10 million dollars to relief groups and government agencies to help deal with the tragic events that happened at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
The gift consists of $5 million in cash and $5 million worth of software. The cash is earmarked for the United Way of New York’s September 11 Fund and The New York Community Trust.
The software giant is taking other measures to help out, including encouraging its 44,000 employees to make donations (which MS will match up to a certain amount), organizing an on-campus blood drive and helping customers in New York and at the Pentagon to rebuild damaged computer networks.

Its good to see that even these huge companies are taking money out in very hard economic times to keep this country going..  I am glad no I am proud to be an American..  I was proud before but I am now proud of the people around me...

They can probably write it off or something. But either way it\'s a good thing that the victims get more help.

I\'ve heard that MS will not release new Flight Simulators. I don\'t think that it\'s the right way. Some game sessions and you can handle a Boeing 747? NEVER

NOOOO!!!! I was planning on getting a flight simulator from them. I have like the first one and want an updated version. They will release new versions later, after a few years. What is the latest version of FS.
It is great that large companies are willing to let out their wallets and give money to help the rescue efforts and stuff like that.

never the less they believe these pilots could have used a PC based simulator to polish there skills

They\'re only litterally spending 50 times more on Xbox advertising than they do on victims of the greatest tragedy in my lifetime! Woot!

I see quite a few negative comments or sarcastic comments toward MS like the one about them spending more money on Xbox advirtisement. Well, of course they will spend more on XBox, they are a business and they do need to still things. They can\'t and won\'t donate every dime and dollar to the victims, I\'m sorry if you think they should.  Ten million dollars may sound like nothing when you compare the net worth of MS, but it is still ten million dollars and every dollar helps / counts.

They are producing a telethon on Friday that is apparently going to be on all networks and I bet many cable ops as well.  This is huge.  Never been done before.  Our citizens have already donated 57 million.  WOW.  That\'s a lot.  I am only going to give 5 million.  I took a heavy hit yesterday.  So make that 62 million from private citizens.
