What is pointless is your post. "what color is the sky?!?!" That is not an open ended question. It is widely known that the sky is blue. Who makes the best console games is a question that does not have a specific answer. It is an opinion based question. (ex. If I like FPS then I would say the US. If I am into Racers then the US. If I like Platformers and Puzzle games then I would say Japan.) If you had "half a brain" then you would know that.

i don\'t think that we forgot them, we just think the Japaneze have better quality games. but there are plenty of good american and UK games i agree. monkey island I was one great clasic title, and so was DOOMII and red alert and war craft.

but still, MGS/MGS2. Final fantasies, Zelda, Pokemon, Virtual fighters, crazy taxi, tekkin series, soul calibar, front mission series, chrono cross/triger, pac-man, after-burner, street fighter series, shemune 1/2, space hariar, dayatona, are more merobale and better quality in my opinuin than anything the americans or UK can do.

Good games come from creative people, not countries...

Hawaii makes the best games... Sufing games that is. Hands up! No i think Japan does.

As a matter of fact, a lot of the Square games are made in Hawaii.  Yes, there is a fat building in Hawaii right now making the FF movie\'s CG.  Pretty sweet eh?

Well, if you want to be a technical lil bastard, then the question, "what color is the sky," is not as open ended as it may seem.  At any given point in the day, the sky can register from blue, to grey, to black in any part of the world.  Half of the time, the sky is black thanks to the fact that the sun is not visible in half of the hemispheres.  In other parts of the day, thanks to the wonders if pollution, the sky can even register to be a deep red caused by the sun as the glare skips off the horizon as it sets or rises and impacts the pollution filled air.  However, this effect can not be seen in Canada.   That\'s only if you want to be a technical bastard though

depends on what games you are talking about.

Japanese developers couldnt make a great PC game or PC RPG to save their souls. Also, I dont know of too many great sports games that come directly from japan.

Japan: trad. RPG, Adventure, Platform (-French for Rayman), action, fighting, and puzzle.

America- sports, PC games, FPS, Racing, and ummmm....

So maybe Japan DOES win, but only by a little!

Konami also have a development studio in Waikiki - KCEA.

The best soccer videogame series, and also one of the best sports games series, Winning Eleven (the newest incarnation for the PS2 is Winning Eleven 5 coming out in Japan on Wednesday) are made in Japan by Konami\'s KCET team. They\'re known over here as the ISS games for the Playstation (not the N64, a different team handles those games) - ISS Pro Evolution and ESPN MLS GameNight.

But apart from soccer I don\'t know any other team sports that are done well by Japanese developers.

KCEA is also in Redwood City California.  I know, I did game testing there.

Japan has square, capcom, konami, sega, polypony dig. and all those big developers! (maybe SONY?)

Europe has some good developers, Liverpoolstudios (wipeout), dropship developers, the getaway developers ect.

America has Volition, Ubi Soft (I think), ect.

Japan rules,,,and i live here woo hoo...

Japan has the most videogame development studios, but the US turns out a lot more games than people give them credit for. I think a lot of people just don\'t realize how many games are actually made in America. We have EA, which is the 2nd highest grossing software company in the business, as well as tons of PC companies like Sierra, LucasArts (which is beginning to do a lot of console games too), Blizzard, Interplay, etc.
