Where are the next generation games?

I completely agree with ddaryl and ask the same question.

My answer, at the time, would definetely be Metal Gear Solid 2. Just play the demo - and you\'ll see. I just can\'t think of better graphics to be achieved than MGS2 already has, and it uses only \'bout 35 ( was it? ) prosents of PS2\'s powers. Incredible!

Whether the graphics might improve ( and they do ), I don\'t need any better graphics than MGS2, for example, has. It has so great graphics that you truly feel you\'re there with Snake - and that\'s the feel of realism and atmosphere I need, and nothing beyond that - so MGS2 is the first game to truly feed my hunger for great graphics.

Every console has flaws, but there\'s the exception that I don\'t mind about the flaws.

Rasputin, first of all, enough with the HTML.  It makes your posts hard to read.

And about the "PS2 produces substandard graphics," what are you talking about.  Like a lot of people have said, check out the MGS2 demo, SSX, The Bouncer, and Onimusha.  In the future, check out FFX, GT3, Devil May Cry, Baldur\'s Gate: Dark Alliance, Wipeout Fusion, and Silent Hill 2 (and more :)) .

FFX shows off the texture power that the PS2 really has, and I\'m sure developers will learn from Square and use better texturing in their games.  Baldur\'s Gate: Dark Alliance shows off the polygon pushing power of the PS2. (Go look at the pics I posted a couple days ago at this thread: http://194.47.16.181/forums/showthread.php?threadid=8003  )

Developers are just beginning to learn how to use the PS2, and we will see lots of graphically amazing things in the years to come (and even this year. :))

How can you think that the "NGC and X-Box produce waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better graphics than the PS2?"  We haven\'t seen anything from the NGC yet besides tech demos.  A lot of people are disappointed with the Xbox and what they\'ve shown.  The only great looking game I\'ve seen for the Xbox so far is DOA3.

Oh, and you are right about one thing.  It is all about gameplay, not graphics.  The nice graphics is just an added bonus.

I\'m happy that the mgs2 demo shows what kind of gameplay the next gen sytems can do. Look at the AI, shadowing, physics and al the other stuff. Kojima focusses more on the AI and gameplay of the game than pretty graphics. Other games which show the power of  next gen systems are smugglers run an kessen 2, both having huge enviroments, the later one having literly hundreds of characters on screen!

Next gen gaming has been here since the dawning of History !

infact here is a picture of earily caveman drawings found right here in scotland !

only j/k.

Look if you ask Where are the next generation games?, then you have not seen tyhe future of gaming both for the PS2 and  other consoles.

i have to say that i am impressed with the first gen games for the PS2 and it only shows what a bright future this console has, so even if you feal left out just wait and you will find some ground braking games released fro the PS2.
