PS2 Price Drop?

I still havn\'t went and got my PS2 yet.  I\'ve seen it in stores now but I\'ve been waiting for a price drop.
Anyone know if one is scheduled or anything like that?
I really hope its around the time that Mgs2 and Gt3 come out.

SONY said that there will be no official price drop this year, but in Germany some shops made a price drop and some shops sell the PS2 with SONY memory card to the price of a PS2.

In New Zealand the price is dropping in the next couple of days. From $899 to $849

I completely missed where Sony ever said that.  Speculation, and it\'s just that, has long been that the price will start to drop when there\'s some competition introduced into the market this fall and not very likely to happen before that.

On an unrelated note, according to IGN the price in Japan has dropped, but not by much.  About the equivalent of eight bucks, American.

I heard that there will be a PS2+GT3 bundle, but a price drop?Who knows? At the moment, Sony has 100% of the Next-Gen market, so they can make what they want.

i heard of a price drop at q3, before the launch of x box and gc...
and that was official. look at the other topic about the price drop in the uk, it has proof.

The earliest there is meant to be a price drop in the UK is September.  It was going to be a £100 but may not even happen at all now.
