Crazy Taxi PS2 Disc Read Error **HELP**

Got the game this morn, played for about 3hrs, went to

Original Mode
Arcade Rules

Press R R for the Mirror mode cheat and selected the girl character

Came up on screen, disc read error please check disc is not dirty (or sililar)

But the game loaded up as normal, the message stayed on the screen till I restarted.

Rang Sony help line and they said it was probbly the cheat that caused the error.

It hasn\'t happened since.

Any ideas??

Ah yet another UK Resident to add to this lovely forum of ours.

Sorry mate but thats the first time i have read of a cheat causing an error message on a game before.

it could be a faulty disk i have noticed that some thimes you will get this error meaasge when viewing the Playstation world DVD.

When switching between features it will some time deaplay this until the PS2 is RESET.

Try it again but if it dose the same then go to the store for a replacement.

Cheers, I frickin\' hope it don\'t have to go back, Ive only got 2 ps2 games, this and DOA2, my first copy of that had to go back cos of a similar prob, wouldnt read some of the levels in, exchanged disc and it is fine.

Got Crazy Taxi from Amazon for £35. If it does it again I\'ll return it.

I got it for £28.79, got Formula 1 2001 for the same price, including free delivery from infront.co.uk.

They were on a bank holiday weekend offer

I\'ve been playing ALL day, a good 8 hours and it hasn\'t done it again. I have used the cheat several times also.

Is that a standard machine generated error msg or is it created by the game??

I\'ve had computer related grief upto my fu*king eyeballs this week.

CD based games (the blue ones) are frickin\' noisy on my ps2, ALL other disc DVD games/video/music CD are all fine, Oh and it goes away if I have my ps2 Vert and not horizontal. They sound like the same sorta noise level as a fast PC-CDROM drive, oh....hold on a min the ps2 has a fast cd drive. Oh never mind. POS

Was playing it and the music was skipping badly, It might have been doing it all day but I never noticed it earlier, well the music is by Offspring so, proably why I never noticed

I\'m pretty sure it\'s not my PS2, DOA2 works fine and all the demos and rental stuff works fine.

So, 2 games purchased = 2 games faulty

Yeah I got Sky Odyssey from infront. Cost £8 less than Eb but took a week to come.

As for Crazy Taxi, if the problem is persistant change discs else I wouldn\'t worry. Well me personlly, i\'d probly go mental over it but thats me.

they should be quite reasonable in your area, it\'s best to be safe than sorry with PS2 games.

If it shows sings of trouble then return it.
also if you have a blue CD game disk that creates a lot of noise  when compaired to other CD Disks , then it could be defective.

my Copy of the MGS2 demo was faulty and very noisey, got it exchanged for one that works and also the noise was gone too.

it could be that the surface of your crazy taxi disk is warped in some way that the PS2 cant read it.

Crazy taxi came the day after release from infront, F1 took a bit longer, but that was cos of the damn postal strike.

Got the replacement from Amazon and that came up with the same error msg, same track in mirror mode, guess it\'s just a bug.

The disc is much quiter though.

Hav\'nt noticed music skipping yet.

Anyone else have this game
