First of all the game is more arcade racer then simulator racer like GT..
With that said lets get on to the game itself. I am not usually a big fan of arcade racer but this game is fun. Its a lot better then the hour worth of Midnight run that I played.
GameplayPretty simple, drive around at night in Tokyo in and out of traffic and look for rival gangs to race. The cars are well detailed and each driver has his own driving style and abilities. The traffic can hinder you or the person you are racing against and quite often postions are changed throughout the race. The control like I said is kinda simple, not to much ability involved in this game. Brake before turn, get to a slide and gun out of it..Pretty basic.. But still offers you the ability to modify your vehicle in how it rides, handles, looks, etc, etc, etc.
GraphicsNothing spectacular... And after looking at pics of GT3 all day it pales in comparison. But thats not to say that are not decent. They are, cars have some pretty cool details on them... Like mods and xenon lights.. City is pretty cool. Jaggies are noticable, but for the most part the game is moving right along so you don\'t notice them all that much..
SoundNot all that spectacular.. Its the only thing in the game I realy don\'t like. But sound is one of those things on a racer game that usually gets the back seat. Yeah you can hear everything, like your horn, and the blinker click when you turn them on, but there is nothing spectactular.. They could have taken a little more time with some better sounding samples..
OverallThe game is great, fun to play and will last me awhile, well at least a month when GT3 comes out.. But its cool if someone else you know has the game, you can both save your cars onto your memory card and then race each other with your modified cars.. Its pretty sick. Plus you can mod your cars in so many ways.. Colors, rims, power upgrades, stickers. There is are endless ways to customize your vehicle.. :eyemouth:
I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a fun racer with lots of potential.. It was worth the $50 bucks I paid for it..
