PSX2Central Best Oldie Awards. (pre-PS2 launch)
« on: June 08, 2001, 01:51:28 PM »
Nominate the one oldie that has contributed the most to these boards.  This is for people who don\'t post as often, like me, or those who might have left, such as chrono and don\'t appear as on a regular basis.

Remember this is a PS2 Nostalgia thread... Bring back those oldies!
\"In the last 12 months 100,000 private sector jobs have been lost and yet you\'ve created 30,000 public sector jobs. Prime Minister, you cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecidented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt.\" - Daniel Hannan

hmmm.... I\'d have to say, though I didn\'t read much of his work, i did read some but i sure heard about the rest, Chrono. He was one of the most solid debaters I have  ever seen on a forum, and he did it with cold hard facts. He never backed down from an argument, and in most cases showed he was the smartest member on the boards. I wasn\'t a frequent poster then, so I never got to know him. But still, he was a damn good poster.
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

Pre-launch?hhmmm, I became famous after the launch when I started mudering random members with countless insults and rips. After the launch I was easily the most exciting and hated member, which I liked of course. :) Now everyone has nothing against me anymore and I hate it. :(

Anyways, my vote for the best poster award back then goes to UnderWhelmingForce. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM??? WHERE IS HE??? He was smart has hell and knew everything about console specs and how they work and all of his post were so long but extremely interesting. He would always shut you up with the facts. Plus, he did it in a calm way, not by insulting, but he just thouroughly explains why you were wrong.

Someone else agree with me on this please.

Nomination for best fanboy back then- SegaCultX. God he was hilarious.

Ohhh god.. there\'s a few. On the Sega side, I really liked chattin with Soul Reaver an Akira. I still count them up there with the most level headed and open minded non-Sony gamers ever to grace the boards.

Then there was Chainrx. He was a damned good mod and pretty damned funny too. His real life took over about a year ago and I don\'t think anyone has heard from him since.

Then there was Oyuki(sp). IMO, She was one of.. if not thee best poster EVER at PS2Central. She knew her ****.. plain and simple. There was just no arguing with her. I\'ve seen her make ONE post that would stop two or three page long flamewars.. just because noone could deny or skirt around her arguments. I think I had a crush on her for awhile there. :D

First of all, his name was not Trinitus like in The Matrix, it was Trintius.  Second of all, I agree.  He hasn\'t posted for probably over a year, but I miss him.  He was around when I first came to the forums (a long, long, long time ago :)).  He was the first "troll" that I ever knew on the forums, but unlike what everyone else said, he actually knew what he was talking about.  I don\'t remember what console he thought was the best, or if he even had a favorite console.

And what did every happen to Chrono?  I was thinking this just the other day.  He just disappeared.

And I think Bobs Hardware still posts around here, but not very much.  I still want to put him in his place in Tekken...right under me. :D

He kept insisting Xbox would be $500 and got into a fight with Ddaryl, if I remember correctly. It was quite funny and troll-like. :)
