I just got this months issue of OPM in the mail and thought you guys might be interested to hear this.

The following is an excerpt from OPM\'s rumor section. Now remember, rumor section, but the way they word it they sound pretty confident. Anyway, on with it:

Have you heard the stories that the game of The Matrix will be "exclusive to XBox? Apparently is all a load of marketing bollocks with no substance whatsoever. My sources indicate that the XBox and PS2 versions of the game have been, and always will be, concurrently developed - and if at all possible concurrently released. I\'ve learned that the Redmond boys from "Area XBox" have been trying to strong-arm anyone and everyone into making "exclusive" announcements for the system, and as a result of this persistence a number of people have been prompted to make some hasty and somewhat ridiculous announcements.
When I probed a few contacts at Interplay about the announcement they just looked at me like something really mad was going on and shrugged. Don\'t worry, Neo will be PS2 bound. Check http://www.shiny.com every now and then for Matrix updates.

It is just a rumor, after all, and the only sources they provided don\'t sound too credible. All they mention are their "sources" and their "contacts at Interplay;" I don\'t know if it\'s safe to trust them, being so inspecific.

I\'d think it better to not trust this article and rather wait and see if it comes true.  Same applies to any rumor that seems this unsupported, really.

am i wrong, but i thought there was a matrix articel on ign awhile ago that said that the matrix game was being prodused for both systems?
hmmmm..........

well, most of the games made from movies sucked, but hey this is the matrix.....
it could all be an illusion................

well the game was never a MS exclusive

MS was scheduled to get the game 6 months before anyone else and online capabilities.

Teh PS2 and GC will not get online versions of the game

that is according to the original news.

I thought it was an X-Box "Launch" exclusive.  But that it would go to other consoles later.

The Matrix is not exclusive. Instead it will launch before other versions and will feature EXCLUSIVE content like online play.

the Matrix is NOT an x box exclusive, in the exact ame article that said MS takes Matix, it says they wi have the rights for the game 6 months upon release, after those 6  months it can come to the PS2 :)

Matrix was never a XB exclusive. It will have extra features on the XB version and will be released on XB 1st. That\'s official. Get over it PS2 people, your still getting the game. And OPM is one of the worst sources you can use. Official mags are horrible, the onbly use for them is demos...

I always wanted to ask you this question.......are you a XBox fanboy or something.  Now I like the XBox, and I plan to buy it in April or May of 2002, after I get done playing Final Fantasy X.  But I don\'t go around bashing the PS2, or the other systems just becuz I like the XBox.

He\'s right. The PS2 and NGC versions of this game will suck horribly because of this proven formula: ports suck. They always have and they always will. Why get a game for console "X"when the same game has been released "B" first and probably has more features? It\'s idiotic.

THPS1&2 for DC were exceptions to the rule.
