If you could choose 1, thats right just 1, free thing to add to your entertainment center, what would it be?

A plasma TV
Kick ass stereo?
An expensive DVD player?
Or a games console?

Or anything else not on this list.

I\'d go with a plasma tv.

a plasma tv is worth about 20 times as much as most DVD players and all consoles. Depending what kinda stereo you are talking about, but i would take the plasma.

Plasma screens blow.  They can\'t produce blacks worth crap.  They look grey.  Front projection is the only way to go.  No problems with viewing angles.  Nothing can beat it.

I would probably go for the stereo.  The speakers I want are 8 grand a piece so if you are willing to fork over about 20 grand I will do that.

As far as my entertainment center goes, I have a regular tv on a Bell Ogetti entertainment center.  DVD, Laser Disc, PS2, VCR, CD, Yamaha 992, HD-DSS Receiver are all there.  If you look in one direction you view the regular tv, but I have a Front projection unit that fires to the left wall.  I have one couch facing one tv and one couch facing the wall for the projection.  I only really use the projector for HD, movies, and PS2.  Eventually when we build a new house the projector will get it\'s own room.

But for now it just sits on the floor.

Does the kick ass stereo include $100k Martin Logan speakers? I know, but it nice to dream about being stoopidly rich. :)

I\'d go with the stereo.  The stereo I\'m realistically working towards has about 7500 dollars in speakers, and 3500 dollars in amp/cd/dvd (I\'ve already got my amp, CD, and 2 of the 8 speakers I need).  I think that I\'d get more \'performance\' out of that stereo and a good HDTV than a plasma TV without a good stereo.

If I could buy a dream stereo, I\'d get tannoy\'s top-o-the line speakers (140 thousand US a pair + more for the other channel speakers, not that you would need em).  A pair weighs almost a ton, can fill a small stadium with sound, and inculdes the cost of special crane delivery and soundroom setup.  :D

Sweet, my dad\'s got a bose but it\'s an earlier version so it\'s one of the two speaker ones.
Thats what I want but If I could afford it I would get these speakers I saw in the paper.
Cant remember what they are called but the could handle any non-commercial output! Now thats power!
I remeber they weighed heaps so they might be the ones FatalXception is talking about
