First off..."hello!" Always glad to meet a new gamer!
Now...you (you troubled youth, you)...you have to let us know what kind of gaming you currently enjoy...
Honestly, each of these systems are (or will be) quite good at what they do. SO it will ultimately come down to what kind of gaming you enjoy (or whether or not your parents can spring enough cash to get you ALL of the systems, or not).
Personally...I like PS2.Reason #1: Its here and playable.
Reason #2: DVD player to boot!
Reason #3: Great games like Red Faction already popping up and keeping me up late at night!
Reason #4: I like driving games ==> and few competitor videogame companies are likely to top GT3 next month!
Reason #5: Metal Gear Solid this fall...\'nuf said there...
Reason #6: Find anyone\'s recent listing of upcoming games
And what of Xbox?I have no doubt that (as much as I hate the b@$t@rd) Bill Gates will see to it that the Xbox will be a huge MARKETING success. Will it be a great system? That remains to be seen, but it likely will have very impressive games. Face it, not unlike Sony 7 years ago, Microsoft is in the financial position to throw money at this machine and its developers to assure its success. My thinking here, however, is that I have a fairly ramped up PC...and I suspect that most of the games that make it to the Xbox will make it to my PC. More *disconcerting* however, (going back to the PC issue in a way) would be that I believe if Gates has anything to do with the Xbox...then its operating system will be unstable (now THAT comment\'ll fire someone up I bet!). Unlike my "day 1" purchase of the PSX and the PS2, I expect to stay away from this one until gaming peers indicate to me that its worthy.
And what of Gamecube?.Personally, I believe Nintendo will ALWAYS cater to the younger set. Yeah, toss out Goldeneye & Perfect Dark, sure. But, typically Nintendo\'s games are too young for me. Lougi\'s Castle looks good though...but still, how many different games can I enjoy with the same basic plumber looking characters running \'round... Too childlike for me...
Anyway...you still have an obligation to feed us some more information on your gaming likes/dislikes if you *truely* wish to solicite some directive feedback.
Again, "hello!"
