any tips to help me beating minion?

Keep moving and use your shield if you want to get close to him.

Just keep trying, and eventually you\'ll learn his moves and win the fight.

This belongs in another section of the site, but the key is to bring down his shield which is being upheld by green areas on each of his sides, front, rear, left, and right.  Specifically target the areas with green boxes and you will bring his shield down.  Once his shield is down, continue keeping your distance and knock him dead with long range weapons such as the reticle and Zoomy missles.  Your special, if homing or long range, is very useful as well.  You might want to utilize firing homing missiles and fire missiles to the rear of you.

you can fire missles from the rear of the vehicle ????

No offense Ddaryl, but try opening up the manual.  It\'s filled with lots of useful information.  About rear fire weapons, it reads exactly as follows:

Rear Fire Weapon Left, Right, Down and the press the fire button.  This ability will effect many weapons in different ways.  For example, Homing missiles will literally launch from the rear while gas cans will be placed neatly on the road as a somewhat large "mine."  It\'s pretty basic really and comes in handy on the more difficult levels when enemies team up on you from the rear.

yeah, stay far away from him.

just keep firing missiles at him from a distance and eventually you\'ll win. it took me a couple tries, but my advice is to say away from him, if you get too close, well youre health will plummet.


just keep doing laps around the track, picking up weapons, and firing every so often.

Minion kicked my ass 5 times before i beat em.
I just raced around the track, collected powerups, and placed some long distance shots every 30 seconds or so. took me some time to beat, but it wasn\'t so bad.

I was pounding him, to no avail.....

How do you bring down his sheild? I kept hitting him but his life bar didn\'t budge, what gives??

minions health bar doesn\'t go down until you destroy his shield.  you have to knock down each side seperatly.

Cygnus, you prolly were pounding the wrong spots.  Once one part of the shield falls, be it left, right, back, or front, then that part will no longer register any damage until the whole shield is destroyed.

My strategy has been pretty simple and similar to those who responded. I keep my distance, never going head to head with him because his melee attack (a la huge laser thingy) is brutal.  His missiles don\'t do that much damage to me (sweettooth).  Start the battle off right away by hitting him with a couple of fire missles then  do laps around the arena gathering some heavy long ranged artillery.  Hit him with the power stuff while keeping your distance. Toss in a couple of ricochet too. I find the gas tank and satellite to be not as effective as the other weapons in the case of fighting Minion.

Once you\'ve lowered a couple of shields use your homing missles to aim at the other shields.  The key is patience! If you are down to very little life wait for the chopper to drop some life, don\'t go kamikaze.  If the shield is destroyed, killing minion will be quite easy compared to the time spent on destroying the shield.

Keep moving goddamit! I usually head to the other side of the arena where minion is located and do a 180, fire some weapons and swerve off to the side and repeat.
