two questions about babbages
« on: June 22, 2001, 10:32:18 AM »
1) Any word on the summer demo disc (the one that was supposed to have Tony Hawk 3?)

2) Do they price match?

I called and asked the clerk these questions but I got the usual hesitation followed with answers in that "I really don\'t have a clue, but instead of trying to really find out I’m going to fake it," tone.
I have adjusted well to not being well adjusted.

Don\'t know...

2) Do they price match?

No they do not as far as I\'ve been informed...  Their point of view (and I can appreciate it) is that while they are typically even or $5 higher, they allow returns for credit on any game purchased.  That honest and open a policy does not tend to exist with the big box stores such as TRU, WallyMart, Target, etc.

Picture this: Dave finds an available seat for his \"Aggressive Drivers Anonymous\" encounter group session.   Saying, \"Hello\" he sits amongst his support group of S2K owners...  Smiling, they rock ever-so-gently to and fro in their chairs...humming peacefully...drinking coffee...and rolling little AutoArt & Maisto S2000s across their knees.  At this moment, the group responds in unison, \"Hi, w1ngman!\" :D

I never heard of price matching at the Babbage\'s where I live, and I live in close proximity of 3 of \'em.

As far as being more expensive, I have never encountered this, as the few games I have bought there have been the exact price as everyone else\'s.  I shop almost exclusively at EB and not only are there prices as fair as everyone else\'s, in my area the return policy is the same.  They give store credit, and not only that, they have their trade 2 get one free policy.  I traded 2 first-wave release games that I haven\'t played in a while for TM:B, and I couldn\'t be happier!  :D  See?

For price matching ask for a manager.  My babbages will price match but only within the mall.  It\'s kind of sad that you need to get a manager to find out if they can price match or not...
