Anyone got RED FACTION UK PAL and want to give some opinions?

I may pick this game up on Monday but was just wondering if its anygood.

From all the reviews i\'ve read, collectivly it seems to be a FPS that is basically average once you past the Geo-mod technology, also the AI is bad. It does have a good story though. So thats what i\'ve heard.

If anyone does have the PAL version what is the slowdown like, from the footage on the latest PSW it seems to slowdown EVERY time the GEOMOD kicks into action.

Finally does the game have screen centering / 50 - 60Hz modes ?

Hey Rich, i picked it up yesterday and it is awesome, a hell of a lot better than the demo if u played that. No 60Hz option , not sure about centering. tho. I havnt played it that much, noit noticed much slowdown.

Geo mod is pretty cool, but i blew a hole in the floor when i was messing about in training and then accidently fell in, and it was too big to get out of, so had to restart, so be carefull!!

I fully recommend this game, you have to get it.

I played this game in EB yesterday and i loved every secound of it,it was sooo cool,and when i have the time and money i am going to get this game for sure.
If you are not sure about it just buy it from EB if you can,then if you dont like it return it,also in my EB near me they have extended the returns to 14 days,how good is that,but as i said get the game i really thing you will like it.

i got this game yesterday and it is ssssooooooooo cccccoooooooooooooooollllllllll, havent noticed  any slow down, the ai seem ok to me eg you put a bomb down they wont go near it if they see it, if you stick a bomb on a man he runs about,very funny, if he runs towards the gaurds and they see the bomb they shoot him so he cant get nearer,i cant stop playing it, must go now and play it

Well I suppose slowdown is ok as long as it isnt in hefty doses (SSX anyone?). It seems stupid of them not to include 60Hz mode in the PAL version when the american reviews I read do have a little slowdown.

I probably be able to see past that though so ill pick it up on monday probably.

Anyone found out if theres screen centering options, or if not does having the image pushed to the left, cause anything to get cut off ?

Rich, iv\'e just been and picked it up. The screen in the demo version was way off to the top left of my screen
but in the full game, the screen looks centred and the slowdown is quite minimal in my first 15 minutes of play.
I\'ll get chance to play it later tonight, once the kids have gone to bed.

on the demo it had a screen centering thing on it, as i must have the same prob on some games as u, as in the picture not being fully on the screen. ill check tomorrow when i get back from work. this game rules, ive been playing it since about 7, it 11.30 now. yeah i know its not that long but my gf was around so couldnt play it as much as i wanted

Yesterday I finished the game (the release date in germany was one week before in the rest of europe)
It was fun, but I played at "normal" and didn\'t need the two big weapons to finish the game (Ok, for 2-3 times you need the weapons to make a way). And it was a bit too short. Too less Boss enemies and too less rooms with GeoMod.....But it was fun

i\'ve noticed a bit of slowdown when you\'re using the rocket launcher, but apart from that the game is very good. i\'ve had a bit of trouble in the bit where you have to find gryphon, you have to use stealth to find him but i\'ve found that even if you keep your head turned away from guards they still recognise you and raise the alarm, managed to get through it eventually but it was frustrating at times. i\'ve also seen the bug where you can shoot a guard at point blank and the bullets go straight through him. apart from that i\'ve enjoyed red faction, especially the multiplayer games that remind me of goldeneye

just picked up the game 2 day hopefully it lives up 2 the hype !!!

I ordered it in UK, since it\'s not out in France.....(Can you believe it, it will be out in September here....damn
France sucks !).
