What ever happened to the old Desert Strike series???

I haven\'t heard anything about one of those in years. The last one I think was Nuclear Strike for PSX. In the back of the manual there was a small preview of the next game - Future Strike, but to my knowledge that game never came out.

I remember Desert Strike on Sega Genesis.  What happen to that series?  I played Desert Strike and Jungle Strike, but Thunderstrike on the PSone  was better.  I can\'t wait for PS2 Thunderstrike!  :D
