Final Fantasy 10 complete and ..

I just read over at core magazine that ffx is complete and then this little tidbit about future installments of the series

Moving on, Sakaguchi-san briefly discussed Final Fantasy X. He admitted that the staff, which totaled over 300 people throughout development, was unsettled by working on the PlayStation 2. Aside from the technical hurdle associated with working on a new platform, Square was faced with the dilemma of adding a completely new element to their series, spoken dialogue. He concluded by saying future installments in the Final Fantasy series will defy prediction.

Damn I am just going to have to try a rpg if it kills me, I suppose summoner was a poor choice for a first try...opinions on my choice ? Just because I didn\'t like summoner does that mean another rpg will be the same too me, or is the final fantasy series that good that it will make me a believer ?

FF has always pleased all sorts of gamers with eye candy.  This installment also gives us (I\'m so excited) voiced dialogue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And, with the new map format, alleviates some of  the repetition found in all RPG\'s.  It\'s good for the go.

I especially like this quote.  It just made the wait for more info on FFXII that much harder.

Oh, and I\'m glad to hear that FFX is complete.  I\'ll just sit back and wait for the Japanese reviews...

The English version will take longer than usual because they want to get the voice diologue juuuuust right!

Nice to hear it... This is one of the games I\'m longing for (next to me having a life and my girlfriend).

This game is going to be greate. I just try not to think about it now. The more I think about it the more I want it.

Jeep.... Summoner was your first Rpg?!?

Oooooo. Summoner was good in it\'s own right....but..


There are console Rpg\'s and Computer Rpg\'s. Summoner was a computer rpg by it\'s very nature. Most computer rpg\'s are set up in the Summoner format (fighting style, character orginization, town layout, dialog, etc).

That\'s not a bad thing, but a poor standard to hold (console) rpg\'s to. MOST, not all, console Rpg\'s where multiple characters are in your party, are nothing like Summoner. Battles are turn-based and more strategic than action based. Towns are more compact with a heavier tilt on function over massiveness... Hell, there are lot\'s of differences.

Point: I love rpg\'s and have been playing them since the days of the Commodore 64 and earlier. Personally I prefer the console rpg in bothe design and excecution, some prefer the computer rpg layout--- it\'s a personal preference.

While Summoner was a decent rpg, it wasn\'t for everyone. Try other PSX, PS2 rpgs, to decide where you fit:)
