Hopefully this will lead to the fall in price in the rotw. Sony need to start increasing sales if they have any chance of meeting their quite amazingly high sales target.

Japan\'s Sony Unit to Cut PlayStation 2 Price Friday
TOKYO (Reuters) - Sony Computer Entertainment SCE, a unit of Sony Corp (news - web sites), said on Thursday it would lower the price of its blockbuster game console PlayStation 2 to 35,000 yen ($281.7) from the current 39,800 yen starting from Friday.

The move came ahead of the planned introduction of two highly competitive new game consoles, Microsoft Corp\'s Xbox and Nintendo Co Ltd\'s GameCube, later this year.

On Thursday, shares in Sony fell 1.1 percent to 8,100 yen while the benchmark Nikkei also slip to 12,679, down 1.16 percent on the day. ($1-124.24 Yen)

how much did it go down? $20-$30 ?

I got my PS2 already, so i don\'t care either way

I don\'t care either. But the price in japan before was $370 and it went down to $280 which is a big drop imo.

What do you meen quite high sale target? Sony has reached every sale target they have set. And they are on scedule to make this one.

Actually if you do the ratio it wasnt 370, it was more like 320
