Well, it seems no one gives a hoot:(

Anyway the DVD is excellent. The intro is a montage of game clips with some jamming tunes. It actually sent chills down my spine.

Dreamcast starts off. No narration here, just crystal clear videos of the games, with a pop-up graphic telling the name of the game.

Next is PS2.... Man, this segment went for nearly an hour. Mostly just video after video, but occasionally there were narrations by game developers explaining about the game. A few that were really excellent were:

Silent Hill: VERY LONG segment, the FMV characters (expecially the lip syncing) was too damn real. Very scary, and disturbing. Lot\'s of footage of both gameplay and cinemas.

Jak and Dextar: Mostly the footage from the movies we\'ve seen, the difference is the quality, high. The footage was clear and fairly long.

Maximo: This game is gonna rock! Very detailed. It has gameplay similar to Warriors of Might and Magic, but the graphics are MUCH better. Plus with Maximo, platform elements, along with swordplay are also incorporated.

State of Emergency: Jesus!! Hundreds of people running around on screen. It really does make you feel as though you\'re part of the Apocolypse. The characters are more detailed and smoother than the screens we\'ve all seen on the web. Looks like loads of mayhem fun. Stomping on a person, while they lay burning...cruel:)

There are others, but truly, this video was well worth it. Next came Xbox (about 10 games) and Gamecube (about 10 also). The big dazzler for the Xbox was, for me, Air Force Delta. That game really looked damn good. For Nintendo, they did a narrated scene of Luigi\'s Mansion with lot\'s of gameplay footage. Some people ragged on Dark Cloud for repetitiveness.... LM seemed VERY repetitive, but graphically stunning. Suck ghost-new room-suck ghost--repeat. To me Picmin(sp) was very cool. Lot\'s of game footage.

Well. That\'s all. If there are any questions, I\'ll try to answer them.

4 of 5 "stars"

Also a very nice feature. In the DVD menu you can select which game to go to INSTANTLY. This was probably the deciding factor to me getting the DVD over the tapes, even though the tapes had more coverage.

Ethan.

The best games were on the PS2. Just the shear quantity ensures that fans of any genre will have more than a few choices to decide on.

Personally the Cube looked better than the Xbox in the graphics department. The PS2 is Sooooo close to both the X and Cube that the difference in graphics is a non-factor (IMO).

The PS2 had so many titles, and original ones to boot (State of Emergency, Police 911, Run Like Hell, Jak&D, etc.) I\'m sure some of those will eventually be ported to other systems, but they will be on the PS2 shortly. Most PS2 games shown have a FALL 2001 release date.... Be prepared to be penny-less this winter:)

Next I would give it to the Game Cube. Nintendo has always had the types of games you wouldn\'t see on other consoles, and this trend is continuing. While the X and PS2 will no doubt share many titles, as was evideced by E3, the Cube will offer a real difference in choice.

That\'s to Nintendo\'s advantage. If there are people out there that will get 2 consoles, wether the 1st is X or PS2, Nintendo can count on there\'e being the 2nd.

I see most people getting 2 consoles as either:

Xbox--Cube
or
PS2--Cube

I don\'t see a Majority Being:

PS2--Xbox.

All IMO of course.

Shoot. Forgot some other awesome videos...

FFX: Lot\'s of CG movies AND battle footage (Shiva is one hot summon)

GTA3: Very nice in game footage. Carjack anyone??

Devil May Cry: Lot\'s of footage. The realistic movement of Dante\' is MINDBOGGLING!! Nice matrix like effects also.

Bummer: No MGS2 footage at all, No AC4 footage at all, No Dead to Rights footage at all.

If they had covered the missing games above(and maybe others) I could give it a 5 of 5. That IMO was the ONLY shortcoming of the DVD, some missing games.
