Yep, you didn\'t hear it wrong!!
You probably heard that Square had already announced that Final Fantasy X was completed several days ago and that\'s probably the reason why FFX was delayed from March released date to July in Japan.  They wanted to add something and push the envelope of ps2 even further and polish it more.  That\'s why we didn\'t see any real life shadow in Tokyo Game Show or even at E3.  In TGS, The playable demo of FFX didn\'t have any real shadow for any monsters, characters, etc.  It just a blob of black spot.  But now, after the FFx is completed, we can get to see real life shadow and it looks darn good.  It react to every characters, monsters, enemies movement.  Even the summon music is pretty good too.  I am not sure about the field area or world map area where Tidus runs around if he is going to have any real-life shadow or just a black spot.  But I am 100% certain that in battle scene, characters, monster, etc. will have real shadow.

I just recently downloaded the 6 new movies from ign and there are three battle scene where Yuna summon her pet, Shiva, and Ifrit.  These direct feed videos are transfered from the FFX final version because, when Yuna summon Shiva, i see her shadow, her wand (or staff\'s shadow), and even Shiva too!  It looks smooth and awesome!  So was when she summon ifrit, no more black spot, you could see the shadow copy every Yuna move like when she bend down and when Ifrit stand.

Now, that\'s what I would say graphically impressive.

Um... I don\'t think Xbox fanboys were complaining about that. Real time lighting and shadows hasen\'t been a problem on the PS2, it\'s even done on the DC, AND suprisingly the N64 could do them too(well, onyl Conker had them but technically it could).

Point- this isn\'t a bid deal.

that hideo k guy.the one making medal gear sdolid is one that said xbox would have better shadows and lighting.

right now iam playing onimusha and star wares rented. My brother has red fraction.
to there are ways to give the illusion of AA,without having to take cuts in performance, and some developers are are taking advantage of themhowever ,until SOny comes up with a specific and easy ways to implement true AA that dosent take major hits on performance, you probably wont be seeing a huge number of games take advantage of it.

i remember Hk saying that too.  He said he have to suffer pain implementing multiple shadows that bend when hit the wall and it was done through a special software.  The PS2 doesn\'t have built in hardware technique that allow you to do real shadow.  He said XBOX isn\'t really that powerful when compare to PS2.  It just slightly powerful and with that "extra power", he can implement shadow easily through hardware like on the fly.  Oh yeah, obviously XBOX can do more lightight effects than PS2.  and for jumpman, DC can do lighting effects but it was somewhat limited.  I remember reading somewhere long time ago saying DC can probably do 1 lighting effect or so while PS2 can do 10 or more different light sources from all direction easily.  Don\'t ask me about NCube, they aren\'t very specific about their hardware specs.  Even till now, i heard NCube is more powerful than PS2, i found that is hard to believe.  In term of polygon counts, PS2 can do probably slightly more than Lunchcube.  In term of textures and memory bandwidth for vram thing, Cube probably can do more (compression...)  and higher ligthing effects...blah blah and blah.  but i think ps2 and Cube is like equal.  For a system that is over one year  younger than ps2 and its not out yet, that\'s under xbox power and equal ps2.  I have to say i am not impress.

A joke?

Did anybody ever noticed that when Yuna summon Shiva, a piece of cloth, probably for Shiva to cover her body or something, fell down and Yuna grab on to it.  It is suppose to be funny or something?  Because the first time i watched it, i was laughing to death.  As if Yuna was blushing or something.  (psst...does that say Shiva is a lesbeyond?)

Just wondering.

Well I didn\'t get anythign of that vibe.  I thought that some (maybe all) summons leave a token for the player so you can tell who is controlling it.

The Gamecube is stronger than the PS2. Not as big of a power difference as say, Xbox vs. PS2, but it is stronger.

And about Kojima on Xbox... Wasn\'t he using a 2nd phase dev. kit when he said that? I would go on about how much better the final hardware is, but I\'m sure you guys are getting sick of that, so I wont. ^_^; BE THANKFUL!! NII~!
