I have a 21 inch Sony TV. It\'s got 1 plug for the picture and 1 plug for sound (yes it\'s only mono) But I use my stereo for sound anyway so I only use the picture plug in my TV.
So whats the best plug I can use? I\'m currently using the one out of the box

The cables that come with it are all you can really use.  You could waste a little moeny and buy the same Composite cables, but Monster Cable Brand, but the difference will be a waste of money.

Right now I have a 19" TV. The cables I use that came with the PS2 seem to work OK. But...it still looks a little iffy. I\'m gonna get a 40" and I\'m buying monster cables just for that reason. I wouldn\'t recommend using the ones it came with anyways...unless you ran out of money buying a PS2...;)

I believe the cable that give the quality from best to worse in this order.

1) VGA cable
2) Scart/RGB
3)Component
4)s-video
5) composite
6) coaxial (die with the 16 bits era, worst cable)

i could be wrong in the order.

Shut your mouth :D Just cause I have to use the cheesy cords that come with it. The gameplay is still the same so thats all that matters

The actual list is like follows, going from best to worse.

1) VGA (PC Monitor), Scart (European), Component (American).
2) S-Video, slightly less quality than the above.
3) Composite / Composite running through Scart.
4) RF Aerial / Coaxial.

For some reason, I have a feeling VGA cable perform better than Component.  Like a difference between composite and s-video.  That much difference.  VGA is like s-video cable while component is like composite.  Anyway, 1080i is good enough for component while VGA cable can go higher than 1200+ lines progressively (non-interlaced).

If your TV can take them it should have a plug hole at the back with S-Video or Scart written above or below.

I dont have a pic but I think it\'s 1 plug and in th plug it\'s got about 5 little prongs (whatever they are called) inside it.

Or you could also check your manuel

Ok I don\'t have a picture off top of my head but I do know that most import PSX shops sells SVideo cables and have pics.

Anyway it consists of 3 wires, one for picture, two for audio. The audio are your standard left / right phono plugs (looks the same as the cables with the PS2).

The Video bit (SVideo) is a bigger plug known as a Dimm. Its circular, has 4 points and a plastic square to keep it in the socket. Reminds me of the old AT Keyboard connectors.
