New Dropship screens and info !!
« on: July 05, 2001, 06:19:03 AM »
I just found an article over at http://www.playstationcenter.com about dropship. This game is sounding sweet and like them I am suprised we haven\'t heard more about it. If the gameplay can match the graphics in this game we are all in for a nice treat come release time :) Here are a few quotes from the article which can be read in full at this url http://www.playstationcenter.com/previews.phtml?id=82960&language=en

What has surprised PSC is how relatively low key this title is being kept, but in the current stage of development it\'s right up there with GT3 and MGS2 as games that could herald a new era in gaming.

Graphically the game impresses throughout. If the 40km x 40km mission maps doesn\'t impress you, the draw distance as far as you can see will

The gameplay has been approached from the half sim, half arcade style of play, making it one of those games that are easy to pick up yet hard to master. Incorporating so many different styles of play within the game is a commendable approach. While you will spend most of your time flying the dropship, you will be required to take to land every now and then, as well as provide recon and tactical support to your troops. If this is pulled off cleverly, it should give the representation that you are part of the war, not just the single person who can unrealistically make the bad go down and the good prevail.

Now on to the screens

Wow, the draw-distance is really impressive although it\'s a little bit blurry, but still very nice.

Dropship did really shape up compared to the first screens I\'ve seen about this one.

Very interesting game.

Yeah, the first screens were literally laughed at by the gaming public and then sony showed the next version and everyone was like omg this is gonna rock if they can pull it off

Is it me, or is the graphics-style a little bit like the one of Incoming (PC/Dreamcast)?

With sharper textures the game would look pretty awesome, but it still looks very nice.

I just want the game to come out!  It\'s one of the reasons that I got a PS2.
Like mech games?  From Armored Core to Frame Gride.  Gundam to Zero Divide.  Come to Mech Madness.

well ive seen better screens, at ign, there is  thumbnail on the side of the preview that simpily looks stunning..

this game has the kind of play halo does, and i would love to see bothe titles enter the gaming industry into a new genera of games.

the pics look good, not great though, but if you look at what you can do when its all done GT3 well, if they do a good job on graphics, it will sell well with the public.
IM BACK. you have a problem with that? get in the back.

Ok first thing, Well done on the decent post. I liked it how you included snippets of the whole articule for us to read. You obviously took a bit more care than just doing a post saying check this article. Nice stuff.

As for the pics they aren\'t too great but this game appeals to me on a much more important level, originality. If they can pull this off it could be a special game.
