Tokyo Xtreme Racer Vs GT3 for me.

Ok its easy to say GT3 is better. It is better. However im personlly not a GT fan. I tried GT1 again the other day to see if I would like it now and I still hate it. It just seems like a trainspotting game.

However the levels are class, the graphics rule but in all honesty GT3 will probably be GT1 and 2 but with better graphics, meaning I probably still wont be a huge fan.

So do i get Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero instead for arcade fun or do I still wait for the Sim that is GT3 in a hope that it is more Arcade orientated without anonying licences etc.

Before answering please remember THIS IS NOT A why is GT3 good thread, im not saying its bad and theres no need to reply defending it.

Their is an arcade mode but I definitely know where you are coming from wanting an arcade racer. I am not sure that tokyo extreme will be that way though. The first one handled kinda poorly imo. have you ever played rumble racing ? it was  a nice feeling arcade racer. i also heard that nascar heat game was pretty decent.
I cant get my hands on tokyo at the video rental place to give you a better response so i guess i am really no help at all

GT3 will definatly be for the "simulator" fans, it WILL have licences, and from what i\'ve heard and read, they\'re harder to get than the ones in GT and GT2. Personally I love it. GT is one game that I absolutely REFUSE to use cheats on simpy because I enjoy going through the entire game on my own. If its anything like its other two versions, it will have an arcade mode, however I was never much of a fan of it. If you didn\'t like GT or GT2, you probebly won\'t like GT3.

I own GT3 and the arcade mode in GT3 is almost the same as in TXR:Z (Not the competing, just the style of gameplay).

They are both great games in their own right, but GT3 has alot more depth and playabilty then TXR:Z.

we sold only 3 copies of txr:z and 1 was returned saying graet graphics **** game !

Uh, personally I like TXR0 more than GT3. TXR0 is something new.. I am also a big import car fan, and that is why I probably like it more. I mean, I get to actually add body mods to the oh so beautiful Skyline in TXR0 along with engine&muffler and others while in GT3, all I get is one plain body. :P There is more customization in TXR0, while GT3 is more on the side of realism. If you want a game that is somewhat different from regular racers, go for TXR0, otherwise GT3 is your best bet.

I played Tokyo Xtreme on the PSone and Dreamcast and it\'s fun when you have to chase the other car.  Tokyo Xtreme is a total different game from GT3.   I think maybe for arcade type game play I like R5.  

Yeah seems I answered my own question really. In short GT3 is going to be GT1 and GT2 with better graphics. Is it really worth buying a game for graphics alone ? Probably not. Ill maybe rent it to give it a spin.

Actually GT3 in\'t just GT1, 2 with better graphics.I\'t alot more than that, it\'s got alot of things better than most racers ,gameplay and graphics.Trust me this game is really fun especially when you get the hang of things, you\'ll love it.Also TXR:Z and GT3 are two different kinds of racing games.But if you never liked the first GT racers there\'s still is a chance you\'ll like GT3 so just give it a try.

Well I disagree. You see when you say GT3 is a lot more than other racers thats cause it features the same features GT1 and GT2 had making them a lot more than most racers, i.e. GT3 is still just like GT1.

As for it being fun, like I said originally no need to defend GT3, its just me, im personally not a fan of the series.

As for me liking GT3 after not liking GT1, as you said, I agree, theres a chance I could get hooked with GT3. I think I might give it ago.

I prefer TXR0. I like arcade racers... I hate sims.
