New Xbox id Software Game?

There is speculation that id Software will be revealing new games at the upcoming Quakecon event on August 9th, one of which might be an Xbox title. While it\'s certain that the new Doom game will be shown, all other titles are being kept quiet at this time. id Software\'s John Carmack has repeatedly expressed interest in the Xbox as a gaming platform and hinted that they were going to develop for it.

...maybe a completely new FPS ? It should be really interesting to see what id can do with a so powerful and fixed piece of hardware...let\'s wait and see...

mabe its a doom game...   or mabe hes been working on something to compete with unreal championship:D

I don\'t think it\'s the Doom-game, an updated Quake 3 Arena would be more likely.

I dont now about that tails.  Quake 3 has hit every platform out there and its been out a while now.  They said it was something "NEW" and they would not waste money on a title that would not sell...cause quake 3 has reached its saturation point.

And as I said before....carmack is on the xbox board...he fought for most of the key components the xbox has...harddrive and ethernet...

I expect him to want to showcase what ID can REALLY do given such powerful hardware.  And now that Digital Extremes has announced Unreal championship.....ID is going to want to match these guys since these two companies are BIG competitors with each other.

expect something new.....and expect something big.

Unreal Championship is just Unreal Tournament using the Unreal2-engine, so it\'s kinda like an update.

id could do something simular to Q3A, just adding some Doom3-code und design new levels and bots.

Ok it could be something really new, too.

WHAT!!!!???  what are you talking about dude?  Unreal Tournament has never even come close to looking as sweet as the pics of unreal championship.  Digital Extremes has said that this game has been designed from the ground up for xbox.  And when you see the pics....you can tell.  They has testified that its a WHOLE NEW GAME.

go load some pics of UC pics.  This game is nothing like unreal tournament.  It has a "few" of the same weapons but besides that EVERY thing is different.  ALL new levels....this game actually has a story....and a physics engine that is out of this world.

what are you hitting at?  The xbox advisor board was put together before the xbox was even created.  It sole purpose was to pretty much to design the most perfect console they could.  John Carmak was not there on behalf of id to project his wishes for future "id" projects.  If that were the case then every developer who is making an xbox game would be on the advisor board....but they are not.
