"Read Disk Error" in 9 days, anyone?!

Well, bought my ps2 9 days ago, and the system suddenly freeze while I was just playing my "F1" tonight.  So, i reboot, shut-off & turn back on, did almost everything... i still couldn\'t run any ps2 games and kept getting "Read Disk Error" message.

The worst... I\'m getting my "GT3" tomorrow!!  I guess i just need to take the console back to bestbuy tomorrow.  

anyone with this experience yet?!  anything i can do in the mean time?!

Yeah this one is one of the common faults

It has something to do with the laser alignment .

Try running diagnostics, there\'s a section on it in the manual.

but since your PS2 is 9 days old just return it and get a new one pronto

or keep it and shell out another $300?
