because it was probably their alcohol that he got drunk on. :) Of course, they don\'t want to take ANY blame for the accident, so they look for the quickest target. These are the kind of people that don\'t vote and wonder why we get stuck with geniuses and philanderers in the office like Billy Clinton.

It said that 35 people have died from vending machine accidents. So maybe there is some kind of problem. He was drunk though...binging, nonetheless.

How would a vending machine fall over, other than if pushed?  Earthquake?  I wouldn\'t blame a vending machine because of an earthquake!  Is there any way that it would fall because of a design flaw?

A lot of junk builds up under the machines over time. It could end up getting more loose eventually. It would still require some major pushing and pulling.

Do you guys realize when you see warnings like that, they wouldn\'t be there unless some moron had done it before.

There\'s a sign on the airplane door that says "DO NOT OPEN DURING FLIGHT".  And the only reason it is there is because one time some dude said "honey, hold my beer, I\'ll be right back".

ITS A FRIGGIN BOX!  Humans learn this stuff when they are less than one year old playing with wooden blocks...  "TIP BOX... BOX FALL OVER"  Why would they need some kind of warning for that?  I don\'t care if it\'s happened to 35 people, I\'m sure that most of those situations were not due to some idiot pulling the machine over on himself.

"Honey, hold my beer.. I\'m going to see if I can pull this machine over..." :D

Calm down...:) If it accidentally fell on you (don\'t think about yelling at me), would you want people thinking that your death was caused by your complete lack of intelligence. Maybe some of them were. But maybe some were accidents also. I, for one, am still trying to figure out how you could make it topple down.

I\'m calm, don\'t worry.  :)  I predict that if you look at those 35 cases, probably 5 of them were caused by complete idiots trying to jiggle the machine to get their coke can free.  The other 30 were due to something else, like workmen pushing the machine around, and the feet getting stuck in a groove in the floor or whatever.  Those were not the fault of the manufacturer of the coke machine.  The workers were improperly trained, applied too much force, were unaware of the surface they were pushing the machine around... etc.  When you think about how many of these machines there are in the US, I\'d say that 35 injuries is a very low number statistically.

What I\'m saying is that even the "accidents" were not due to a fault in the design of the machine.  It\'s a big box, and I don\'t see how you could make it any safer.  I also think that warning stickers are unnecessary.  Humans should know "TIP BOX... BOX FALL OVER."

EviscerationX,

No offense. But after reading some of your thoughts on certain threads lately, it seems to me that you are overly sensitive. Please correct me if I am wrong. It\'s great to have compassion towards others, but you can\'t sit in front of the TV crying about everything that happens to ppl on the news. (not that you do)

... I\'m sorry for those who don\'t have common sense, and while I\'m not \'glad\' the kid died, I don\'t care either. It\'s like crossing the street w/o looking both ways. I can understand if some 3 year old does it, but once you reach that point that you should have common sense, my sympathy goes down the drain. But hey, that\'s me.

I don\'t want to live in no freakin\' sugar-coated world. Bring the darkness, bring the reality, because that\'s what it is. The world is a big and scary place.
