Bull**** email from sony about 60Hz UK!

Ok this is from the gaming-age boards,this guy sent an e-mail to sony about the 60Hz option,and here is what he got back!

I haven\'t got a reply yet, but some PAL gamers who just want the opportunity to play their PS2 games as they\'re MEANT to be played are now being given the following BULL**** response from SCEE\'s customer service:

"1) The UK is a PAL region
2) Due to the nature of our system we only work with 50hz
3) Our system is often thought of as better than NTSC because NTSC games often
are hampered by letter boxing or black bordering.
4) 60hz causes colour bleeding (not as crisp as ours)
5) The frame rate is slower.

As anyone with even the slightest knowledge of videogames will know, that email is a pathetic disgrace. I\'m asking that anyone who reads this, regardless of your console biases or whether you\'re from a PAL region or not, to send an email to psUKcustomer_service@scee.net asking about a 60hz mode in future PAL PS2 software.

To give people responses like SCEE have done is just pathetic, and it just shows how they regard gamers in general. Laughable, just laughable.

Damn, it wouldn\'t be of much use to me anyway
because my ( fairly new ) Sony wega tv does not
have a 60 herz option. It would however if they\'d
made a vga box for my PS2.
But maybe it would indeed be better for the speed
of the games.

Both comments are untrue and are actually the other way round, PAL being slower than NTSC and PAL being letterboxed, just pathetic.

Well I have to say that if that letter is correct in how it has been written, then one can only laugh at the sheer ignorance which expels from the neanderthals at Sony\'s customer service.

Let\'s examine each statement:

1) Yes, the UK is a PAL region.  Full marks for the boy at the back.

2) "We only work with 50Hz".  Right, well I have a PAL Dreamcast in my domain, and it\'s perfectly happy running 60HZ-optioned games like 18 Wheeler and many others.

Tut, tut.

3) Our sysytem is regarded better than NTSC?  That\'s true Sony, \'cause I like to play my games slower than what they should be, and have great big f*ck-off borders like the ones that adorn UK Onimusha.

And sure the US games have large borders. Sure they do....

4)  60Hz causes colour bleeding?  And Soul Calibur runnning at 60HZ looks sh*t does it?  

S-M-E-L-L T-H-E C-O-F-F-E-E, S-O-N-Y...........

5)  WTF?!!  The frame rate is slower??????  So my PAL 50Hz game, which is REFRESHING AT 50 FRAMES PER SECOND, is FASTER than 60HZ, which is refreshing 10 frames extra, per second????!!!!!????

I agree with everything you said. Im glad you straightened it up. When he was completly talking ****e, I thought that I was reading incorrectly.

I mean surely to god this Sony bloke relises that anyone who is asking about such issues as 60Hz in games is more than a casual gamer and can see through that bull**** excuse of an e-mail.

this is upset.  Does SCEA UK thinks we all nuts?  I could tell right away 50hz is slower than 60hz.  60hz is faster not slower!  Color bleeding?  hertz don\'t cause color bleeding is the source such as cables transfer and videotape don\'t give good quality...geez.  letterboxing are found in both NTSC and Pal region because it full screen not widescreen.  I feel like complaining but i am not sure.

Yeah me too. If enough people reply to this post saying that they are going to e-mail Sony then ill do the same.

There\'s nothing worng with PAL atall, it is considered superior, it\'s just people don\'t make games for it properly as it is  minority.
