I could have died
« on: July 16, 2001, 08:25:55 PM »
Well with that life and death stuff going on in that other thread it really made me think about this situation.

Well me and my sister where staying with my brother. And it was a on a sunday. Everything was going good. My mom came over and one of my other sisters. Well my mom and sister did the good bye thing and left. But no soon as they get down the road they have a accident. So now my brothers wife has to drive them home so everyone leaves besides me and my niece. It started getting late and we where watching the simpson. And she said too me are you scared? I was like no why. She said because blahh..blahh...was over and she was scared to be left home bye ourselves because she thinks someone will break in. Well around 10:00 I got sleepy and was going to bed. Then I heard a knock at the door. IT......it was my little sister she was coming back. So I went down stairs and put in the movie Indian In the Cupboard(I think that is how you spell it) Anyways as I am going to sleep my sister runs down stairs and says someone is upstairs. I thought she was lying and did not believe her til we heard somebody trip over.

I was only 13 at time. So fear and death ran through my heart. The phone rang...rang... it was right on the steps I thought to run up and get it. But I was too scrared. The movie continued to play all while the persons where up stairs in the house. I thought any minute someone is going to come down stairs and kill us all. We where all in the basement hiding behind couch and in between the sofa bed. For throghout the whole movie the gun man stayed in the house they where there squating and waiting for 2 hours. Then all of a sudden...I heard my brothers wife car pull up and then there was a scream...We did not know what to do. None of us could run and do anything for fear the perps where still in the house. About 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door. At first we all just laid motionless then I heard the screams of family saying open the door.

We later found out it was 5 guys packed with Ak47\'s I can\'t say why they where there because that is none of anyones business. But they did not harm...anyone... they ended up letting my brothers wife go. That had to be one of the scariest moments of my life.  Maybe another time I will post my all time scariest moment.

:crying: That sucks..I am so sorry you had to go through that. I remember when I as young...I was almost kidnapped 3 times, but I wasn\'t one of those stupid kids who\'ll listen to anything for candy and whatnot. I just ran like heck...:) Being scared like that is so incredibly not fun. I\'ve never had anything like that happen to me before, though.

When I first started to read your post I thought I could add in one or two of my brushes with death.  But none of mine have been that dramatic.  Wow.  Good story, and I think it\'s cool that you\'re here to tell the tale.  I\'ll tell you about me and my Lady Luck some other time.

My niece was 6 and my was 11. Thank you guys that was one of the worst things I ever went through. Sad to say that was not the end but I will post the rest another time. My niece still gets scared for it happening a second time. We try not to even mention those things. Never talk about it. Just keep them all bottle up inside. I am 21 for the most part I am over it but those two incidents change the way I look at everything. My sister seems to have forgotten everything, I believe my niece stills feels shaken about it. And that can scare you too the point that you never want to be home alone again. Beeing a guy it does not bother me as much, but I know  for girls it does.

But again thanks guys:)

XBOX, I apologize if death and excitement interests me, but that was one of the most interesting stories I have ever read here - and somehow I don\'t doubt the story at all!

Many questions raise even to my head, such as \'what would\'ve happened if you wouldn\'t have ran to the basement\' etc. etc., but what if\'s are pointless in this situation as you did the right choices - because you survived and everybody was allright.

But it must leave scars... for a life-time... if I\'d be in that situation, I\'d perhaps faint from shock.

Hmmm, might as well tell my scary story too. :D

Ok, this was like 2 years ago. I live on Guam and yeah, my family and I were heading to Hawaii. Anyway, we were on the plane... Pretty smooth ride for the first 30 minutes. Then all of a sudden, there\'s some kinda shaking going on.. Turbulence? Yeah.. Then the guy on the speaker says that we are having some troubles... So yeah, we are scared.. Everyone is freaking.. So we head back.. Luckily we weren\'t too far off.. We thought it was nothing.. But when we got back to the airport, they said that some engines or whatever had failed and it was a miracle that we didn\'t die! LOL... Damn, that really made my day. It was cool though, we got stuck back at the airport for about 10 hours until they finally decided to let us out and have a free night stay at the Hilton with the flight to be on the next day. :D

An another one... This was back in 93. Well, we are in the airport (again!!)... We are heading to Seattle to visit relatives and such... Anyway, as soon as they call our flight number, some shaking goes on and it sounds like some airplane is landing real close or something. But then it just got stronger and stronger and the friggin ground was going side by side and all the lights and ceiling starts falling... Damn it\'s an earthquake! That was the scariest crap I have ever been in. It was an 8.2 on the richter scale... Wohoo. After it was over, there were lots of people on the ground bloody from the falling roof. :( Scary... Good thing not one person on this island died. Majority of our buildings are concrete and earthquake reinforced... :)

That\'s my story.

Oh and XBOX, that is some scary ****. I can\'t imagine people who do that. Those scum. :(

Well, after some thinking, I could tell my story. Nothing as exciting, but it was as close to death, if not even closer.

First off I almost died at my birth. I was born three months earlier than I should\'ve. It was a nightmare... My mother didn\'t even have time to see me before doctors took me to ER to be cutted... my heart didn\'t function right. I still have scars reminding me.. but luckily the scars aren\'t very visible.

But that wasn\'t the last time I was going to die. When I was two years old, or three if I remember right, I got lung-fever. A bad one. It was noticed a bit too late. Fever raised way over 40 and I was taken to a hospital. Few days and doctors had lost their hopes. They told my parents I was going to die, that there was nothing more they can do, and only thing they can do now is pray. I was so weak that they couldn\'t move me to the ER, as I would\'ve died in the process. But then something called \'miraculous turn of events\' happened. I started to get better. It was a miracle, they said. So, everything I got was weak lungs, afterwards, but they\'ve strongened to a normal state now as I am. I do remember something, I probably was near death, and it is quite remarkable as human usually doesn\'t remember things happening at the age of 2, nor 3.

Still, this isn\'t nearly as shocking, if looked back, as I wasn\'t so aware of my state of health, and I still can\'t understand how close the death actually was. Still, thought of sharing this, if anyone\'s truly interested...
