My Dog has died

I also just lost a dog on June 30 to cancer, she was a 10 year old golden retriever.  Last week sometime one of our kittens disappeared too, I\'m guessing our neighbor did something with it.  The sick bastard already killed one of our cats, hung it in our garage.

I\'ve seen our two dogs and three cats get put to sleep. It hurts. Especially if they\'re young and should have lived for years to come. But even though you miss them the pain will fade - believe me. We don\'t have any animals now though, and I don\'t know if I\'ll ever get pets again. I might, I just don\'t know... there\'s nothing worse than seeing someone/something you love die. I\'m not sure I want to go through it again.

That reminds me of my old neighbor.. though it\'s a very different story, it reminds me of them.

They basically had around 30 cats, were never home, supposedly just left the toilet bowl up and left bags of food lying around for them. They were in terrible condition.. the people who lived there wanted to keep the cats for some reason, though. I recall my parents contemplating calling due to animal abuse several times.

This was 3 moves ago, I wasn\'t too old at the time, but old enough to remember it.

ddaryl,

Thanks alot for making me cry at work;). I empathize with you seriously. I was there when my family dog was put down. I watched as the lethal injection was made, I held her(Sandy) head as she closed her eyes for the last time. I nearly died.

Now I have two of my own. A Lab mix, and a Lab/Doberman (7&2 yrs old). I dread the day when they will go, but the love and comfort they provide makes it all worthwhile.

My condolences

Yes, samwise, I know. You eventually get over it - and I hope you fastest recoveries, ddaryl. Your dog is not alone.

I have gone trough the sorrow, and I have survived from the pain. But I still can\'t watch live video of him without bringing a tear into my eye...

I still miss you Leevi... but we shall see each other again... but not yet. Not yet.

:crying: .This is so upsetting. I haven\'t had a dog or anything but i\'ve had hampsters which i\'ve really got attactched too. I think its bad for any animal to die.

As for that sick bastard who hung inteq\'s cat, he deserves to be hung in someones garage. Thats just inhuman.

I also have a dog. He\'s 8 1/2 years old and i hope he won\'t die in the near future. I would be very shocked too if i would find him dead... :(

I hope that this will never happen. :shy:

ddaryl, I know nothing that I or anyone else says will bring back your dog. I just hope you know that we are all with you and we all sympathize.

ddaryl.. Yeah its very sad when you loose one of your pets..

I lost one of my cats a year ago..
She was 16 years old.. Got cancer in the liver..

She was just like your dog. Avoding us, sleeping all the time. Staying in the darker areas.

She used to be "round" not fat but pretty big. When we took her to the vet, she was so thin..

I remember that she started to throw-up alot before she died..
So she couldent eat.. And had no energy to walk back inside.
It was summer so she sleept outside..

Ive also lost a bird.. The coolest bird you could ever own.. He only had one eye..

I got one cat left. Her son :)
He\'s 16 this year and looks very healthy..

I hope he has a long life cuz I love him..

I feel for you ddaryl.. This brings tears to my eyes.. :(

You have my condolences.

I myself have two wonderful dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel\'s,3 and 7 years old)

I can\'t even think about loosing one of them, they become just as an important part of the family as everyone else.

Again,I am sorry for your loss

R.I.P. Cala :(
